Media showed the general public the mass slaughter of people in Vietnam. Although the people in Vietnam were not at all American, but they were human. Many people saw this as not much of a war, but a manslaughter. This turned many people against LBJ
A Vietnam cease-fire agreement was signed in Paris by the U.S., North and South Vietnam, and the Viet Cong . The agreement provided for the return of U.S. prisoners of war in exchange for unilateral withdrawal of American troops from South Vietnam.
