Thought that the exact path of an electron can not be predicted. according to the current theory there are regions inside the atoms where electrons are likely to be found. those regions that they thought were inside the atoms were called electron clouds.
Danish Scientist.Worked with Rutherford.Studied the way that atoms reacted to life.Theory lead him to the purpose that the electrons inside of the atoms move in certain paths, or energy levels.Theory was something similar to the rungs on a ladder you are able to stand on the rungs but you cants stand between them.
A former student of Thomson. Decided to test his former teacher’s theory. He aimed a positively charged beam at a thin sheet of gold foil. He put a special coating behind the foil to see where the particles went.
British Scientist. Showed that there was a mistake in Dalton's theory.Discovered that there are small particles inside an atom.This means that atoms can be divided into smaller parts. He experimented with a Cathode-ray tube. Discovered that a positive charged plate attracted the beam. He concluded that the beam had a negative charge. Also concluded that negative charged particles are present in every kind of atom. Negative charged particles are now called ELECTRONS. Thomson’s model is know as the “plum-pudding model” he thought that electrons were mixed throughout the atom.
A British Chemist and schoolteacher. He experimented with different substances.His results suggested that elements combine in certain proportions because they are made of single atoms. He published his atomic theory in 1803. His theory stated: All substances are made of atoms,All atoms can’t be created divided or destroyed, Atoms of the same element are the same, Atoms join with other atoms to make new substances
Greek philosopher. He said that the atom cannot be cut any smaller. Its a small hard material formed into different shapes and sizes particles.Greek word “Atomos”- not able to be divided.
