In 1811 Venezuela had declared independence from Spain. For 10 years the emperor led military forces to go against Spain. in 1821 Venezuela defeats Spain.
After Toussaint was dead the fight for independence had still been going on, In 1804 revolutionaries of Saint Domingue declared independence. They took it from France and even named there new nation Haiti.
Toussaint agreed to an armistice. The French did not like that and broke an agreement with Toussaint that had sent him to prison. The prison was in France where he had died in 1803.
Tere was a growing tension between latin american society. Europe was leading to demands for change. the enlightment and the American and French revolutions.
As a result of slave trade, African's spread throughout Western Europe. This Diaspora was called African Diaspora. The Africans eventually led into diffusion.
a major slave revolt broke out on an island. Toussaint helped slaveholders escape. After he had helped them he joined the rebellion. After a while he became a Spanish solider.
