ACUS and the US Chamber of Commerce cohosted an event that explored the international role, responsibility and coordination of regulatory agencies.

In 2010, the Administrative Conference of the United States reopened its doors after a hiatus of 15 years. From 1968 to 1995, ACUS served the Nation as a unique source of respected, nonpartisan expertise and creative advice to improve the fairness and efficiency of federal agency functions. Three-quarters of its recommendations were adopted in whole or part by Congress or agencies, resulting in substantial net savings to the Federal government. The challenges facing the administrative state have only grown more numerous and complex since 1995, even as resources are contracting. What issues should be addressed first by this "public-private partnership designed to make government work better," as President Obama described ACUS? What new roles might it play? Paul Verkuil, the Chairman of ACUS, and a distinguished panel of experts will discuss these topics in the first program addressed specifically to the future of ACUS. A reception will follow.
