Between 1960s 1970s Australia went under a massive society change where a huge influx of non-English speaking immigrants from various countries came to Australia. These people needed schools for there kids and churches which spoke there language. Australia responded to this by bringing priests from all over the world to Australia.

In the 1960's the contrecptive pill was marketed but it has been around since the 1920's. Even before it was marketed it was said that over 1/2 million women had all ready used it. This is was not liked by the christians because they believed that you should only have intercourse if you were maried and this allowed people to go around having intercourse with who ever they wanted.
In the 1950’s the number of Australian Catholics grew rapidly increasing the proportion of Catholics in the Australian population. Also the number of priests, brothers and sisters continued to expand. In this time many parishes were established in the new suburbs of major cities.
