New job, new commute, this time by car and with an hour and a half drive, I decided to revisit the classics from my youth by checking out audio books from the library-I was reintroduced to the Scarlet Letter, Tolstoy, to Dickens and many more.
Then I met and fell in love with Mauve Binchey, an Irish writer and discovered that I could learn about a country through their writers.
I began to read Anne Rice, I was amazed at the history I learned through her writings
Began working on my first Masters in Education, Human Resources/Training and Development.
More textbooks than I would like to remember.

Now I can remember reading and loving e.e. cummings the eccentric poet of that era. I had and awesome English teacher in the 10th grade, his name was Robert Von Fisher IV-what a character. He introduced me to soooo many literary greats, theatre and the opera.
I remember walking around campus reading the Hobbit as a badge of honor since only a few of us knew the significance of such writings at that time.
James Baldwin, Richard Wright, Zora Neal Hurston I began to discover African American writers, I knew I could be one...I read and wrote poems constantly.
My family always subscribed to Jet and Ebony Magazines and to the Amsterdam News to support Black news.
I can remember being read to by my mother and other family members. Education was a huge deal in my family. My grandmother was illiterate and told us daily "Get your education, no one can ever take that away from you." I still hear those words today.
