LSE professor emeritus, Peter Loizos, gave three lectures on the following topics: (a) Problems and opportunities in communication, understanding, and interpretation of social/cultural contexts (b) On inter-cultural understanding as an open ended project: lessons from Geertz and Herzfeld, and (c) Some problems of translation from one language to another. All sessions were introduced with the screening of short videos produced during GEMIC fieldwork in Cypriot schools. Zelia Gregoriou participated in the Final Ministerial Conference on “Guidelines for the
Collection of Data on Trafficking in Human Beings, Including Comparable Indicators”, organized by the Austrian Ministry of the Interior and the International Organization for Migration in Vienna. “Trafficking and the safeguarding national borders from migration”, Paper presented by Helen Kambouri in the International Studies Association (ISA) Conference..
