Girls tend to excel in this area. They are better at handwriting and drawing
Boys show a big spurt in strength, speed and endurance that continues though the teen years. They are getting better running speed, broad jump & throwing distance.
Girls' gain in gross motor performance are slow and gradual, however they are better at things that require balance and agility, like hopping and skipping. They usually level out around age 14
By the age of 7 or 8 the synapse formation starts to decline
