What have been the most important video games? I just finished reading the Rough Guide to Video Games and have made a timeline out of their list of classic videogames. But the list doesn't look right. There are barely any games mentioned before 2000, and nothing before 1995, but a large number in the last five years. What do you you think? By important I mean games that were milestones for the gaming world, games that changed the way we think about gaming, or games that best captured a gaming trend. Tell me what you think.
