This is my timeline about World War 1 and the many causes that lead to it.

It was by a Serbian nationalist who assassinated Franz. He got assassinated because he was aligned to be the next ruler.

A group that raises money and puts out advertisement to stop the war.
It is the war industries board and the leader was Bernard M. Baruch. They put quotas in allocated raw materials. Also on the wholesale level they put price controls.
Women started taking jobs that were meant for men which were nurses, clerks, and teachers. Also some worked as volunteers.
The purpose was to stop supplies going to Germany.
Espionage Act- if citizens were being disloyal to the government then they could be fined $10,000 and sentenced up to 20 years in jail. To protect citizens from peoples opinions that threatened national security.
Sedition Act- it prohibits citizens to be disloyal to the government. The purpose was to try keeping people from having bad opinions about the war

Once you got a notification of you being enlisted for the draft you had 30 days after your eighteenth birthday to get you registered. Women did not have to right to enlist in the military.

They got into the war because the British intercepted a telegram that was going to the government of Mexico from the Germans. It was sent by Arthur Zimmerman. One more reason why America joins is because the Americans were very upset about the Lusitania.
The reasoning for the Zimmermann note was to propose an alliance between Mexico and Germany and if war broke out in the U.S. then Germany would help Mexico gain lost territory.

The machine gun could fire 500 to 600 bullets per minute. Then the tank was invented in 1916 by the British, but it wasn't very reliable they found out. Another very important weapon was gas. Their was three different kinds called Lachrymator, asphyziant, and Chlorine Gas.

The President was Widrow Wilson and he got re-elected because he said he would keep them out of war.
When the Lusitania got hit by a torpedo that’s when they decided to start world war 1.
Here are a few facts about Trench Warfare. You would have to stay low or you'll get shot or blown up. Then their was no man's land which is in between the two different sides of trenches. Also they two opposing sides would have a rest day which is when they just have a break of fighting and would visit with each other.

Imperialism- extending economic and political control over weaker nations. Nationalism- Devotion to the interest and culture of one nation- lead to competition. Militarism- Development of armed forces and their use as tools of diplomacy. Alliance System- formal agreement or union between nations.
The allies were France, Great Britain, and Russia. Then the Central Powers were Germany, Italy, Austria-Hungary, and Ottoman Empire.
African Americans form the south traveled to the north because to get away from Jim Crow and racial discrimination.
