• Civil War
  1861

  American Civil War broke out in latin america.

• Action in Southern Mexico
  1810

  The first public call for indepenence was made in Southern Mexico by Miguel Hidalgo.

• Hidalgos Bell
  1810

  On september 16 the memebers of Hidalgos church were called to the churchyard. He then delivered a very popular speech. The speech was to fight for the peasants independence against the spanish.

• Spain Gets Invaded
  1807

  The emperor of france (Napoleon) invaded portugal and spain. Both kings were in trouble. Spains king went to jail while the portugals kind ran off into Brazil. This is when Spain and Portugal were in serious trouble.

• Independence Continues
  1804

  While the fight still continued for independence, Saint Domingue revolutionaires named their new country Haiti. They got their independence from France.

• Toussaints Death
  1803

  After Toussaint and the french general agreed to an armistice, the french broke the agreement. They sent Toussaint to jail. Later Toussaint died in jail.

• Toussaints Agreement
  1802

  When Napoloeon sent his french general to Hispaniola to take Toussaints colony from him. They fought for months. Finally Toussaint agreed with the french general to agree on an armistice.
