Reed is taken into custody in Warren County, Ohio, after a vehicle pursuit and crash.
Reed buys a half-gallon bottle of whiskey and leaves Irvine heading to Florence, Ky. In Florence, Ky., Reed stops at Walmart and buys clothing and a watch.
In Knoxville, Tenn., Reed robs and stabs a woman in Ingles grocery parking lot. Reed travels to Irvine, Ky., to the house of his father’s girlfriend. He is turned away.
Sebastian Police Department Officers respond to 1615 U.S. 1, Clark Water Co., in reference to a theft of vehicle.
Sebastian Police Department officers respond to 901 U.S. 1, Sebastian Auto, and takes report of the attempted theft of two vehicles from a used car lot. The attempt to steal the vehicles occurred between October 25 at 5 p.m. and October 26 at 7 a.m. A connection with these incidents and the escape was not made at this time.
Ground search continues. Detectives interview Taylor, who cooperated and gave detailed information about his escape route. Taylor admits Reed followed him to Gifford. Evidence found that corroborated his statements and, based on new information, the ground search is adjusted.
Day spent following leads and re-interviewing Reed’s family. A decision is made to do a door-to-door ground search using all available personnel. Detective Sgt. Kent Campbell and Detective Sgt. Macen LeVan tasked with organizing the canvass.
Taylor captured by U.S. Marshals in Martin County. Taylor interviewed after his arrest and says the last time he saw Reed was at 43rd Avenue and 45th Street in Gifford when Reed could not keep up with him as they ran from the jail. Originally, Taylor said he and Reed went their separate ways in the 2500 block of 43rd Street, but after interviewing Taylor again, investigators learn he lied in his first statement.
From 11:30 am to 7 pm: Numerous leads followed and family and friends of both escapees are interviewed. Little information obtained pertaining to Reed. Federal jurisdiction in Texas, Kentucky and Indiana notified Reed may be en route to one of those areas.
Detectives learn that Sadie Welker had posted information on social media site about the escape. She is interviewed again and tells the interviewer she had driven Taylor to Indiantown.
Verified through a review of video surveillance footage that the escapees went under the outer fence on the south side of the west recreation yard at 12:42 AM.
An initial briefing is held. Capt. Don Smith designated as incident commander and Capt. Rick Lane charged with supervising the investigation. Detective Steve Stoll assigned to investigate and locate Reed, while Detective DOnald Hard is assigned to investigate and locate Taylor. Detective Milo Thornton is assigned to investigate the aspects of the escape.
Welker and Pike interviewed and released after providing little information. Reed describes how they escaped from the jail and their concerns about getting caught.
Corrections staff notifies jail’s uniform patrol watch commander that Taylor and Leviticus escaped. Patrol begins immediate search of the area and finds two inmate jumpsuits outside the facility.
Between 4 and 4:30 a.m., Welker drops Taylor off at Walmart.
Welker, with Taylor and Pike in the car is stopped for a traffic infraction by a Stuart Police Department officer.
Taylor picked up at Shake Your Booty Club by girlfriend Sadie Welker and her friend Angela Pike. Reed was last seen walking north.
Between 1 and 2 A.M. Taylor and Reed run into Gifford.
