Background:
Deforestation is the destruction of a forest and “changing the use of land.”
Problems:
Although the trees provide a lot of raw material for people to use in their everyday life, deforestation results in the carbon dioxide accumulation in the environment.
Connection:
Deforestation connects to both environmentalism and the Industrial Revolution. It connects to environmentalism because industries produce lots of poisonous gases, including carbon dioxide. It connects to the Industrial Revolution because to actually build industries, a large number of trees were cut down to make room for land.
Synthesis:
Deforestation helps us understand the effects of industrial wastes and to develop methods to reduce the production of poisonous gases and its release into the environment.

Background:
Tuberculosis is basically a lung disease. The two forms of tuberculosis are infection and disease.
Problems:
One of the major problems for this disease is that it is easily communicable, especially among the poor. It was also one of the leading causes of death in the United States in the early 20th Century.
Connection:
Tuberculosis connects to the Industrial Revolution because during that time, laborers and immigrants lived in dirty and overcrowded workhouses, where they were “in close contact with each other.” This, plus the poor nutrition and sanitation and the shortage of clean water, spread the disease quickly. Tuberculosis connects with environmentalism because with the improvement of the nutrition, the decrease in the overcrowded conditions, and the awareness of the disease to the public, it can help prevent the spread of this deadly chronic disease.
Synthesis:
With the help of the modern treatments for tuberculosis, and the public awareness of the causes of the spread of the disease, helped play a significant role in the containment of tuberculosis.

Background:
The typewriter was invented by Cristopher Latham Sholes, along with the help from Carlos Glidden and Samuel W. Soule, in 1867.
Problems created/solved:
The main point if the invention of the typewriter was to help writers and people in businesses. Soon, it was used by everyone to send letters rather than hand-write them.
Connection:
The invention of the typewriter connects to both the Industrial Revolution and the Scientific Revolution. It connects to Industrialization because it was faster to spread information to people than using the printing press. It connects to scientific knowledge and research because it leads to the invention of the typewriter.
Synthesis:
This invention had a great impact on people around the world because it inspired them to advance technology.

Background:
Typhoid is an illness caused by the bacteria, Salmonella typhi. It usually spreads by food or water that is contaminated from an infected person.
Problems:
Typhoid is still a major health problem around the world, especially in the developing countries. These countries do not have the specific resources that are used to screen the silent carrier of typhoid.
Connection:
Typhoid connects to the Scientific Revolution as well as Environmentalism. It connects to the Scientific Revolution because scientists developed the cure and methods for the prevention of the disease. Typhoid connects to the environmental issue because if our surroundings are not sanitized properly, it leads to the contamination of food and water, which eventually leads to the spread of typhoid.
Synthesis:
Our world is different in many ways because of the cure and vaccinations of typhoid. It created a sense of awareness about the disease and the prevention of this disease around the world.

Background:
By the early 1800s, the concept of ‘factories’ started developing, where laborers worked under the factory rules and by the clock.
Problems:
The start of factories began many problems. Factories were in need of a lot of land, which lead to deforestation. The factory workers lived in crowded and unsanitary places, which eventually spread communicable diseases (typhoid/tuberculosis). Lastly, the factories produced lots of waste that resulted in the environmental pollution.
Connection:
The Industrial Revolution connects with factories because it leads to the spread of communicable diseases. Factories also connect with Environmentalism because of deforestation and environmental pollution.
Synthesis:
With the help of the Industrial Revolution, factories around the world are raising our standards of living. By better understanding the effects of deforestation and environmental pollution, the methods are developing to reduce the deleterious effects of pollution caused by factories.

Background:
To summarize, pollution is basically the contamination of the environment. There are several kinds of pollution, but the types of pollution that cause the most problems are water and air pollution.
Problems:
The main problem of pollution is that it exposes people, or even animals, to different kinds of diseases. Some animals even cut and injure themselves with open cans, but that’s only because people litter. Oil spills are the most dangerous kind of pollution.
Connection:
Pollution connects with environmentalism because the industrial waste causes the water pollution. Pollution connects with the Scientific Revolution as well due to the fact that advanced technology helps us decrease land and air pollution.
Synthesis:
The scientific knowledge and advancement helped us improve our methods to reduce industrial waste prodects.
