Leftovers History has no followers yet. Be the first one to follow.
Leftovers thump C1 Royals 6-0, advance to semi-finals. The Leftovers had chances early in the 1st and finally got on the board with a powerplay goal from Scott "Summit for breakfast" McGuire at 9:45. Ryan "git her!!!" Guritz added his 1st of the playoffs off of a "Gump" Killian feed at 14:44 of the 2nd on the powerplay. The Guritz goal opened the flood gates with McGuire scoring on a completely open net at 12:20 and Dean "make a hockey play" Evenson netting one just over 2 minutes later. Guritz added another on a breakaway at 7:56 of the 3rd and then set up Killian for a goal with 1:38 to play. Game Notes: Jason "cereal for breakfast" Bleistein stopped all 24 shots faced for his 1st shutout of the season/playoffs... McGuire's goal on the empty net could easily have been missed by Guritz, Anders Larson and B2's Derek Barsness...
Leftovers lay an egg in Semi-Final game vs Chiefs. Things were looking good early on after Dean "making friends" Evenson scored at 13:30 of the 1st. The Chiefs replied 3 minutes later. Things didn't go well for the Leftovers in the middle frame with 4 goals against. Ryan Guritz' feed to Jeff Killian resulted in a powerplay goal just 18 seconds into the 3rd. Nate Bonde scored another off of a rebound at 11:49 to give the team some hope but that was the end of the tallies for the Leftovers. Game Notes: The team would like to take a mulligan in the 2nd... Brent Hanson and Anders Larson found out that 3 games in 8 hours can wear a guy out...
B2 Leftovers come up short vs Farmers. "Matt" Damon Dohmen scored on a breakaway at 8:46 of the 1st to open the scoring. The Farmers answered 4 minutes later. A powerplay goal at 12:57 of the 2nd put the Leftovers down 2-1 and the Farmers goalie slammed the door the rest of the game. Game Notes: Open water stood in places on the ice throughout the game... Heck and Jeck behaved well in front of the AHA brass...
Leftovers 0-5 on the breakaway, still win 3-2. After a tie with the #1 seed Barons, the Leftovers needed a win against the #2 Ice Hounds. Gregg "F#@!" Myren bounced a blue line dump(defensive) past the Hounds goalie at 13:47 of the 1st. A rare Leftovers miscue at the offensive blueline led to a Hounds breakaway and a 1 all tie. On the powerplay, a cross ice pass from Brent "Beans" Hanson to "Jubilent" Jim Buccellato to Scott "Summit" McGuire feed put the Leftovers up 2-1 with 0:22 to go. Hanson's point shot hit Jeff "Gump" Killian in the skate, Killian "controled" said pass and deposited it into the net for the 3-1 lead with 2:15 to go in the 2nd. After a number of failed scoring attempts by the Leftovers the Hounds pulled the goalie and made it a 1 goal game with :46 seconds to go in the 3rd. The Leftovers ran out the remaining time and added a win to their 0-0-1 playoff record. Game Notes: Nate "Mountain Man" Bonde became the 1st Leftover to be tossed twice from the faceoff circle in the same game... "Chicky" Stimac became the 1st Leftover since Jeremy Wiles to crash head first into the boards after a breakaway... Bleistein faced 33 shots, turning aside 31... Davo Waldock and Scott McGuire combined to miss on 4 breakaways...
Leftovers shutout High-powered Maddogs in playoff opener. The Leftovers peppered the Maddogs goalie but were unable to find the back of the net until "Coach" Aaron Etshokin's point shot found it's way past the keeper at 7:09 of the 2nd. Neil "Hassle" Hoff's pass to Jeremy "I'd drive a 100 miles to play hockey" Swanson led to a 2-0 advantage less than 3 minutes later. Jeff "Weddy J" Wedren hit "Just" Mike Navarre with a pass at the bottom of the circle, Navarre deposited the puck top shelf for the 3-0 lead. Game Notes: Brett Snaza turned aside all 27 shots faced... Vegas Mike set a Leftovers record by going 22 for 22 in the faceoff circle and 0-2 on break aways...
Leftovers tie shorthanded Grizzlies team, back into last playoff spot. Chicky Stimac, Jim Buccellato, Dean Evenson, and Dave Waldock provided the offense while Jason Bleistein made some key saves late in the game. The Grizz started the game with 7 skaters. Naturally, the Leftovers took them lightly. Game Notes: Mike Nelson took a high stick to the eye but all was made right a few days later when he and his son (Nelly) had their picture taken with the Stanley Cup at O'Garas... Jake Dotray and Brent Hanson were a combined -8 in the game...
Penalties get the better of Leftovers in 3-3 tie. The team took 8 penalties in the game resulting in 3 powerplays against vs the last place Flaps. Anders Larson, Jeff Wedren, and Aaron Etshokin scored for the Leftovers. The team could have moved into a tie for 1st place with the Farmers but a last second chance was covered in the crease by a Flaps skater...
Leftovers survive against playoff hungry Chiefs. Already assured a playoff birth, the Leftovers faced the Chiefs that were fighting for the 4th seed in B2. The Leftovers leading goal scorer "principal" S.Krenner but in a rebound at 9:09 of the opening peroid. A failed clearing was cut off by Mike "I finally scored!!!" Gander, who hit Jeremy " I still wish I played for the Kodiaks" Swanson for the 2 goal lead at 12:57 of the 2nd. A Chiefs 3rd rebound attempt found it's way into the Leftovers net to make it 2-1 just over 1 minute later. "Vegas" Mike's drop pass to "Matt" Damon Dohmen resulted in a 3-1 lead with 5:04 to go in the 2nd. The team took the 3rd period off while the Chiefs scored goals at 12:05 and 2:55 to tie the game. Needing a win to stay in the playoff hunt, the Chiefs pulled their goalie with just over 1 minute to play in OT and Derek "frat man" Barsness hit the open net for the 2 point win. Game Notes: Neil "don't hassle" Hoff showed up 20 minutes before the 7:45 start time... Ganders 1 game goal streak came to an end...
Leftovers show up in biggest game of the season. Losing this game, either team could all but say goodbye to the post-season. In prototypical Leftovers style, the team gave up the early goal off of a 2nd rebound at 16:06 of the 1st period. Chicky " I wanna be a Leftover so bad!!!" Stimac muscled his way to the net and evened the score at 1 at 9:40. On the powerplay, Scott "the Demolition Man" McGuire hit Anders "Morale Officer" Larson with a pass just in front of TMN's goal crease for the one goal lead at 6:51. Jake "Verbal" Dotray's pass to "inappropriate" Jim Buccellato led to McGuire's goal with :38 to play and the 2 goal lead. Dave "Steel Panther" Waldock and Mike "Nelly" Nelson combined just 10 seconds into the 2nd period for a 3 point advanvage that was equaled less than 2 minutes later by TMN. Once again on the powerplay, Stimac's shot hit TMN's goalie, Jeff "Moist" Wetterlind's 1st try hit the goalie in the stomach, his 2nd hit pay dirt to restore the 3 goal lead. An early 3rd period powerplay goal saw TMN's deficit cut to 2. The Leftovers stormed back, gained a 2 man advantage that resulted in Stimac's 2nd of the night and the 3 goal lead. After a neutral zone regroup, Buccellato hit Dean "That's how it's done, son!!!" Evenson for a semi breakaway and his 5th of the year. Waldock and Nelly combined for the coffin nail at 3:52. Game Notes: The Leftovers are up 3 points on TMN but need to beat the Grizzlies on the 30th to lock up 4th place in C1 east (aka B2 lite)... Once again, all 3 lines got in on the scoring... Chicky and Nelly registered 2 goals each... McGuire lost a contact lense thanks to TMN's #25's head-butt... Jason "I can't sleep" Bleistein turned away 29 of 32 shots... Waldock and Gregg "F*#!" Myren both made up new curse word combos in front of Evenson's sons...
Leftovers to ra lo ra lo ra win 4-2 in pre-St. Patty's day brawl. After dropping a heartbreaker to the Bullheads, the Leftovers played a Pre-St. Patty's day game against the #1 seed Barons. The team set a tone early (it wasn't beige) and Davo "Cinnamon Roll" Waldock hit "Jubilent" Jim Buccellato for a one-timer and the 1-0 lead. Scott "Oh' Danny Boy" McGuire went end to end and also found the back of the net at 9:04 of the 1st. "Jeral" Dean Evenson made friends with a defenseman and drew a double minor that turned into an elongated 5-3 powerplay, though no one was surprised that the team was unable to convert. With the score tied at 2, Waldock beat the goalie 5-hole at 12:47. 24 seconds later Evenson hit Jubilent Jim with a cross ice breakaway pass that resulted in his 2nd of the night. The game was called with :10 to go after some drunken Irish boxing to the right of the Leftovers goal. Game Notes: Jason "Blarney Stone" Bleistein stopped 21 of 23 shots... All 8 of the minors called in the game were for either roughing, cross-checking, or body checking... Brent "gift of the gab" Hanson talked with the refs...
B2 Leftovers finally whip the 'Dogs. After a failed clearing or 3, the Maddogs scored the games 1st goal at 5:36 of the opening frame. Anders "Morale Officer" Larson cut off a Maddogs icing attempt and somehow managed to score to tie the game at 1 all. Derek Barnsess scored off of a Scott "Tall Silent Type" Krenner pass at 3:16 and Anthony Foster wired one past the keeper less than 2 minutes later. Jeremy "it's my puck and you can't have it" Swanson connected with Neil "don't hassel my" Hoff for a powerplay goal at 12:07 for the lone goal in the 2nd and the 4-1 lead. The 'Dogs scored at 11:29 to cut the lead down to 2. Mike "Bubble Boy #1" Navarre celebrated his rebound goal before it even went in the net. After the 'Dogs had scored again, the pulled the goalie but Krenner slammed the door on a come back by hitting the empty net. Game Notes: Brett "what's with this western bias" Snaza made 32 saves on 35 shots... Jeff "weddy J" Wedren only drew one penalty... Mike "only guy that hasn't scored" Gander did not try to fight Goliath again...
Snaza stops 34 of 36 shots in OT win The Leftovers spent most of the 1st period in their own zone but a late 2 on 1 break resulted in another Hoff to Krenner goal. Jeremy "can I get a clarification on that call" Swanson scored off his own rebound early in the 2nd followed. An early goal by the Farmers made it a one goal game. An unseccessful penalty kill saw the game tied with 9:41 to go. Swanson's pass to Anthony Foster was deposited past the Farmers goalie via 5-hole for the 3-2 ot win. Game Notes: Brent Hanson took 3 penalties in the game, say it with me folks, never been done before... Anders "Nice Guy" Larson didn't want Hanson to be the only one to feel shame and thus took his first PIMs of the year...
Krenner-Barsness-Hoff line turns in 8 points in 5-3 win Looking to keep their huge one game win streak going and climb in the standings, the B2 squad took on the 3rd place Moose at Aldrich. The Moose struck 1st (sound familiar?) at 9:37 of the opening frame. A goal mouth feed from Neil "don't hassel my" Hoff to Krenner at 7:08 tied the game at 1. Anthony Foster's 5 on 3 powerplay goal at 4:21 gave the Leftovers a 2-1 lead. The team failed to convert on a number of PPs in the 2nd, but Derek Barsness's's's's even strength goal at 5:29 put the team up by 2. I'd like to say the game was put away in the 3rd but that just isn't the teams style. A Moose goal at 12:33 was equaled by Barsness at 9:46 followed by another Moose goal at 5:11. With the Moose goalie pulled, Anders "that was a pass" Larson led a winger too far and the puck found its way into the open net to seal the win. Game Notes: "Vegas" Mike failed to record a point for the 1st time this season... Jeff "demolition man" Wedren drew 2 penalties...
4-1 win over Phantoms pushes Leftovers to 4th in B2 lite The team started slow surrendering a goal in the middle of the 1st. The team came to life after Dave "Pie Shot" Waldock's shot hit the post and landed on Mike "Olde English 800" Nelson's stick for his 3rd of the year. The teams traded chances in the 2nd and early 3rd until "Needles" Nate Bonde scored what proved to be the game winner with 8:09 to go in the game. Jeff "I'd rather play defense" Killian banked the insurance marker off the goalies glove less that 2 minutes later. A late power play resulted in Waldock's 5th of the year. Game Notes: Jason "Road Rage" Bleistein stopped 26 of 27 shots... Bonde scored the game winner against his former team for the 2nd time... All 3 lines figured in the scoring... A total of 7 league employees played in the game...
Leftovers back on track with win over Outlaws. Skating with a full roster for the first time in the 2010-2011 season, the Leftovers didn't show it. Scoreless through the 1st and playing like a team that had lost 2 straight, the team finally turned up after Jeff "snow blind" Wedren directed a "Just" Mike Navarre pass into the Outlaws' net with 8:13 to go in the 2nd. Scott "Tall Cool One" Krenner scored his team leading 10th of the season followed by Brent "the d.c. chair" Hanson's 2nd at 3:29. Derek "frat Man" Barsness added his 4th of the year before a Neil "Perfect Timing" Hoff point shot deflected off of Brad "Who Needs a Helmet" Sorock's skate for the 5-0 lead at 1:10 of the 2nd frame. Beautiful second period does Outlaws in. Leftovers out-skate and out-play Outlaws in 7-1 beat down. The Leftovers scored 5 times in the second period because the Outlaws got caught cheating several times by the alert officials. Its no wonder the Outlaws have nearly the most penalties in the league. Damon Roth suffered a bloody nose after tripping someone and accidentally catching a stick in the face because he wears a suicide cage, which apparently is considered foolish if you wear orange and black. Outlaws were without some meaningless dudes who wouldn't have affected the outcome of the game. Jeremy "Swany" Swanson scored off of a Mike "the only guy who hasn't scored" Gander face-off win at 14:55 of the 3rd. A Leftovers slashing call led to an Outlaws powerplay goal at 7:33 but "Soccer Capris" Navarre restored the 6 goal lead on a 2 man advantage with 1:46 to go in the game. Game Notes: Wedren had his stick snapped by an Outlaws slash at 9:18 of the 1st, Wedren intended to toss his broken twig behind the bench but hit Gander instead... "Swany" Swanson discovered(the wrong way) that it's ok to cup check as long as you don't lift "too hard"... The Outlaws #2 discovered that wearing a Hannibal Lecter mask won't save you from a bloody nose, especailly without a chin strap... The Outlaws fans wanted to eat the refs liver with a nice chianti and some fava beans... All three lines figured in the scoring with 7 different players finding the back of the net...
C1 Leftovers slide past Grizz in 5-4 win The Leftovers jumped out of the gate and scored on their 1st shift of the game when Jim "I got girl scout... cookies" Buccellato tipped a Scott "was that my 3rd of 4th Summit?!?!" McGuire feed into the net. McGuire planted one in the net at 10:22, this coming shortly after getting planted back first into the boards. Buccellato and McGuire again traded goals midway through the 2nd for a 3 goal lead. Buccellato scored mid-air while getting hooked from behind, the tally was nominated for a web gem. Dave "Pie Shot" Waldock scored his 4th of the year on a tic-tac-toe pay with Anders "Nice Guy" Larson and Mike "The PIM Contender" Nelson. With the score at 5-2 the Leftovers noticed that the Grizzlies only had 6 players on their bench and figured the game was in the bag. Grizz goals at 11:41 and 1:38 made things very interesting. The Grizzlies missed a completely open net from inside the paint(equaling Ryan Guritz's effort in 2008) with 30 seconds to go. Game Notes: Whoever ate a bowl of Lucky Charms before the game should stand up and be recognized before the game on the 2nd... The odds of the Leftovers/Phantoms game being cancelled are 2 to 1...
Leftovers get plowed by the Farmers, 4-1. James Wells scored the Leftovers only goal.
Phantoms can't make it through the snow and forfeit to the Leftovers. Even though the game wasn't played, Jim Buccalletto still credited himself with an assist.
Leftovers Dave Waldock, Anders Larson, Brent Hanson, Nate Bonde and Jason Bleistein are joined by Ariel Zetlin-Jones as the team makes their fourth attempt at the pond hockey tourney in Eagle River, WI. The Leftovers would go 5-1 over the weekend, again losing in the finals.
Mayhem stop Leftovers 3 game win streak The Leftovers came up short once again vs the shorthanded Mayhem. An early shortie by the Mayhem had the team down but Jeff "Weddy J" Wedren's powerplay goal at 6:39 tie things up at 1. Brett "Miami Bound" Snaza stood on his head for most of the game and kept things close till a powerplay goal at 7:36 of the 3rd put the Mayhem up 2-1. Anders "I sure hope no one saw that" Larson had the game tying goal on his stick inside the crease with an open net but somehow managed to hit the post. Game Notes: Scott "Tall Silent Type" Krenner tried to remove a players eye with his stick... Snaza made 30 saves including a couple that were nominated for web gems on espn... Mike "drought" Gander bought his captain a beer after the game but hasn't been able to buy a goal this year...
Leftovers back at .500 with win over Lakers After a lopsided win over TMN the Leftovers continued to look like the Leftovers of 08-09. Scott "Summit" McGuire banked a shot in off the goalie shortly after missing on a one-timer feed from Alex "Tennis Elbow" Mavridoglou. The Lakers replied at 7:29 to tie the game at 1. The team peppered the Lakers goalie with shots in late in the 1st but it was Jeff "Gump" Killian's breakaway goal at 12:54 that opened the flood gates. Brent "Beans" Hanson's point shot found its way past the keeper at 8:52 for his 1st of the season thanks to Nate "Van Winkle" Bonde's screen. Jake "Aces High" Dotray added another 52 seconds later on the powerplay. Bonde scored his 4th of the year with 6:34 to go in the 3rd, Anders "Morale Officer" Larson scored 2 minutes later set up by Dave "Steel Panther" Waldock and Mark "White Tiger" Cochrane. Waldock added one of his own in the final minute. Game Notes: Nelly got on the score sheet... Not with PIMs but an assist... Jason "Road Rage" Bleistein made 33 saves on 35 shots... Although Killian doesn't like playing forward he has 2 goals in 4 games at wing...
Leftovers D clamps down in 4-1 win over Flaps Anders "Morale Officer" Larson opened the scoring with a shot from the point at 11:00 of the 1st. Less than 3 minutes later and on the power play, the Mike 2 Mike connection scored on a goal mouth feed. Scott "the tall silent type" Krenner picked up where he left off in the last game with a goal at 13:41 of the 2nd and his team leading 9th of the year in the closing frame. The Mudflaps pressured ealry in the 3rd and found the back of the net with 13:41 to go. A Flaps penalty and some crafty Leftovers cycling kept the play in the offensive end for much on the 3rd. Game Notes: Weighing in at 430lbs, the Hoff-Gander-Foster line put on a puck control clinic throughout the game generating numerous scoring chances... Brett "Random" Snaza has allowed just 1 goal in each of the past 3 games... Jake "Tommy Boy" Dotray tripped over the blue line whilst defending a 3 on 1, Snaza made the save...
Leftovers win 3-1 over Cheifs, climb to 3rd in B2. Scott "I miss the Hawks" Krenner took a cross ice pass from James Wells and beat the Cheifs goalie for the 1-0 lead at 5:56 of the 1st. The Gander, Swanson, Hoff line put on a cycling clinic resulting in Neil "don't hassel my" Hoff's 3rd goal in the last two games. The Cheifs pressured for much of the 2nd until a hooking call put the Leftovers on the powerplay. "Just" Mike Navarre's pass to Krenner gave the Leftovers their 1st shot of the period and a 3 goal lead with 3:18 to go in the period. A fluke Cheifs goal with 2:13 to go in the game cancelled Brett "Aldrich sucks" Snaza's shutout. Game Notes: The Leftovers took zero penalties in the game... Jeff "weddy J" Wedren continued his quest to crash neck first into the end boards at every rink in the Twin Cities metro area...
Bleistein, Bonde, and Guritz power Leftovers past Northern. Missing their leading scorer and 1/3 of the defensive corps, the Leftovers took on the Mighty Northern with a humbling 3-0 loss still fresh in mind. After some Jason "road rage" Bleistein saves, Ryan "I brought the family" Guritz scored his 7th of the year with 1:13 to go in the 1st. Gurtiz scored his 2nd of the night off a nice pass from Nate "the mountain man" Bonde at 11:23 of the 2nd. The Northern got on the board at the 4 minute mark but Bonde restored the two goal lead with 1:06 left in the period. Bonde made it a two goal night off of a "Jubilant" Jim Buccellato feed at 15:26 of the 3rd and shortly after the game started to get ugly. Lots of roughing from both teams localized around the Leftovers' net. Alex "Tiny" Mavridoglou scored off a Mark "white tiger" Cochrane rebound with 5:13 left in the game. After Jeff "Moist" Wetterlind's goal with 2 minutes to go things got really ugly. After Guritz was checked into the boards he clipped a Northern player in the back head with his stick. Guritz was tossed from the game as the player laid motionless on the ice, but in what can only be described as a post-Xmas miracle, the player lept up as Gurtiz was being ushered off the rink. Game notes: Gurtiz is tied with Scott "Summit" McGuire for the team lead in goals with 8... He was booted from the game in front of his daughter, mother, and extended family... The refs forgot that the AHA is a non-checking league... Bleistein made 28 saves on 29 shots...
Turnovers eat up Leftovers in 5-4 loss to MadDogs Damon "Braveheart" Dohmen scored his third of the year at 7:03 of the 1st period. However, three MadDogs goals in the last 4 minutes set the tone for the evening. Goals from Jeff "Weddie J" Wedren, Anthony "Uptown" Foster, and Jake "Lucky Charms" Dotray had the game tied up before a MadDogs tally with :50 to play in the 3rd. The Leftovers were unable to advance the puck past the 'Dogs blue line to pull the goalie in the last 2 minutes. Game Notes: Jeff "Weddie J" Wedren is on a 3 game goal streak... The team is cautiously optimistic about Mike Gander's return to the line up this weekend...
Leftovers go Moose hunting, win 6-2. The Leftovers faced off against the Moose at historic Aldrich Arena, just minutes from St Paul's scenic East Side. Damon "William Wallace" Dohmen was itching to display his skills in front of the sell out crowd and hit Jeremy "I no play beer well without" Swanson in front of the net for the 1-0 lead. A fluke Moose goal tied it at 1 but Jeff Werden's 2nd of the year off of a Mike "the movin' man" Waltman "pass" made it 2-1. The Moose struck back early in the 2nd and the Leftovers twice failed to convert on the man advantage despite a number of good chances. The New guys line found the net 3 times in less than 8 minutes to start the 3rd. Derek Barsness and 2 from Scott Krenner(both on feeds from James Wells). Mike "free at last" Navarre netted one on a power play thanks to cross ice passing from Waltman and Brent "Beans" Hanson to round out the scoring. Game Notes: Heck and Jeck b!tched out 12 players (new personal best) for things they vaguely remember doing... The Leftovers are 2-0 without Mike "Broken Chicken Wing" Gander, hmm... Brett "I heart Aldrich Arena" Snaza stopped 25 of 27 shots with his new pads Blackie and Red...
Leftovers hand Gators gift wrapped win Sub Goalie Eli Montalvo kept the team in the game through a 1st period shelling before the Gators put one home at 10:52 of the 2nd. At that point the team was outshot 15-4. Three more 2nd period goals seemed like too much for the Leftovers but the team finally showed up. Goals from Scott " -4 " McGuire and Ryan "Crop Dust" Guritz made it a 2 goal game. A Gators goal with 2:45 left removed all hope. Fourteen seconds later the refs removed a d-bag from the ice. Game Notes: The Leftovers currently have the lowest PIMs in C1 East (aka B2 Lite) with 56... The Gators #12 miss his calling as a Lumberjack but didn't miss Alex Mavridoglou when he 2 handed axe chopped him in the side..
Leftovers bring law to the lawless in 8-3 win. Taking to the ice against the newly formed Outlaws the Leftovers found themselves trailing at 11:59 of the opening frame. A string of Outlaws' penalties resulted in Aaron "AHA's #1 fan" Etshokin's 2nd of the season off a one-timer and Brent "Beans" Hanson's 1st of the season off of the the goalie's breezers. The Leftovers took control of the game early in the 2nd with shorthanded goals from Damon "William Wallace" Dohmen and Jeremy "sober enough to play" Swanson. Late 2nd period goals from Swanson and "Vegas" Mike put a strangelhold on the Outlaws. The 3rd period saw the teams trade goals midway through with markers from James Wells and Jeff Wedren. Brett Snaza stopped 27 of 30 shots. Game Notes: The team set a new record with 47 failed clearing attempts... The B2 squad is now 3-0 with Jake "lucky charms" Dotray in the line up... Rumor has it the Lumberjax offered Brett "I need new gear" Snaza a contract for the 2011-2012 season with a signing bonus of a $50 gift card to Walmart... Damon "Braveheart" Dohmen was hit in the face with the puck while taking a drink on the bench...
Leftovers earn 2 points in hard fought game with B-Cats Coming off two tough defeats the Leftovers faced off against an old rival and handed the Battle Cats their first regulation loss of the season. Gregg "the Animal" Myren one timed a Scott "I haven't scored in 2 games" McGuire pass for his first of the year at 14:22 of the first frame. The Leftovers continued their inspired play throughout the first with McGuire scoring at the 13 second mark. "Inappropriate" Jim Buccelato celebrated two goals in the 2nd while the Bcats answered with three. Ryan "Sloppy Joe" Guritz scored his 4th of the year on a scamble in front of the net at 12:04 of the 3rd. Jeff "Gump" Killian scored the Leftovers 1st power play goal in about a month at 2:48. This atoned for the Bcats goal that Killian chest-bumped into the net. Gregg "F*&@!!!" Myren then unleashed the fury and hammered in another goal with 0:36 left in the game. Game Noted: Ryan Guritz fell off a roof but still made it to the game... Dean "I'll be there for sure" Evenson missed the game... The team managed to make it through the game with zero penalties, never been done before!!!!
Leftovers eat too much turkey The Leftovers faced off against the a Mayhem team with only 5 players on the bench. But the power of Marvin the Martian proved to be too much for the 'Overs as the were out hustled, out shot, and out scored 5-2. Jeremy "guess I'm the center now" Swanson and Brad "bank shot" Sorock scored 2nd period goals while the 'Hems #8 separated Mike Gander's shoulder. Game Notes: Dan "old school" Smith played a flawless period on defense before moving back up after the Gander injury... "Vegas" Mike played an entire d shift from behind the other teams goal line... Mike Gander now has a new "sexy" shoulder sling...
MudFlaps drop Leftovers, on the scoreboard and physically. The Leftovers jumped out to a 2-0 lead with goals by Jeremy Swanson and Mike Navarre in the 1st 4 minutes of the game. The Flaps anwsered with 2 of their own before Brad Sorock banked a shot off the back of the goalie to regain the lead. Things went down hill in the 2nd as the Flaps picked up the physical play and knotted the score at 3. An early Flaps goal and a completely listless Leftovers powerplay sealed the deal as the game ended 5-3 with an empty net goal. Game Notes: Brent "Beans" Hanson brought his home jersey for the away game... See the wall o shame for Brett "Left Field" Snaza's comment.
Leftovers slip past Chiefs for 2nd win of the season Looking to keep things rolling after their win over the Heat, the team took on the re-built Chiefs in sunny Eden Praire. The Leftovers opened the scoring with a home-run break away pass from Jeremy "I'd drive a 100 miles to play hockey" Swanson to Dan "Old School" Smith. Danny "Old School" beat the Chiefs goalie with his patented fake shot to the back hand.
