When Guy gets home, he can since that something is wrong. He gets in his room and trips over anempty pill bottle. His wife was passed out after she purposely overdosed.
Guy was walking to work when Clarisse sees him. She rubs a dandellion on his chin. She says it's a test if he actually loves his wife or not. And if he does, the yellow on the flower is supposed to rub off on his chin, and it doesn't.
Guy was walking along the road near his firehouse where he works, and he feels like he's no alone. He soon comes pon a girl. A girl who's name was Clarisse McClellan. She seems to be very nice. He thinks sh's lost so he walks her home. At her house, he sees that all of her lights are on. Which is somehing that doesn't happen.. Ever.
In their town, since they think they have to be ideal, when someone overdoeses these guys come in and suck all the blood out of her with a machine and they replace it with new blood. which is what they did to Montag's wife, Mildred.
