  UK Commission is formed to expand education to adults leading to the University of the Air(Open University).

• Iowa State

  State University of Iowa(Iowa State University) becomes first university to broadcast educational programs.

• Martha Van Rensselaer 2
  1911

  Martha Van Rensselaer is appointed full professor at Cornell, one of the first women to achieve this status, due to her role in distance education.

• NY State

  Three credit hour courses are offered for rural women in New York State. Within 5 years, 20,000 women are enrolled
