There are many causes that lead up to the American Revolutions. Like Acts and Proclamations. For example the Stamp Act, the Proclamation Act, the Tea Act, etc.

The Tea Act gave one British company a monopoly on selling tea. People protested and as a result the sons of liberty dressed in indian clothing and boarded British ships and then dumped 15,000 pounds of tea into the Boston Harbor. This was know as the Boston Tea Party.

The intolerable Act was a term used to describe the punishment for the Bosty Tea Party. The closed the Port until all of the tea was paid for, the forbid people in the massecusets for electing officials or holding town meetings, the required people in all colony feed and house British Soldiers, and they sent more troop.
British Soldiers were attacked by a large crowd, and as a result the troops got nervous and afraid, and the fired into the crowd killing 5 people.

The Quartering Act requires colonists to house British soldiers and provide supplies.
