Question 1: Why was this game important to you?
This was the beginning of fandom in gaming for me. Sc was first game where i was just completely in love with. This game has is soul reason i have gone on to buy other blizzard games and remain a big fan even today.
Question 2: From a Designer’s Perspective, what skills was the game trying to teach? And how did the game try to teach these skills?
Sc was 2nd biggest RTS game after C&C I think they wanted to become a force in the RTS industry and SC did just that. SC has 3 races witch sets it apart from C&C witch only has 2. By having 3 main races you have a super variety on the way can be played. SC is balance to the core. SC is one of the biggest played games in world because of there balance and super fun themes.

Question 1: Why was this game important to you? RE1 was first survival horror game i played. RE1 was first game that scared me, id say resident evil was first game to have an impact on my emotional state. It would leave me thinking about the game hours after playing it. Question 2: From a Designer’s Perspective, what skills was the game trying to teach? And how did the game try to teach these skills? Survive! RE1 showed players how to use there wits to solve puzzles to survive. It had a fun play style to it as well. I think they did a really good job on balancing gameplay and story. Not only was it scary to survive it was fun!

Magic was first game that showed me a role playing universe. Magic is first thing that got me into using abilities and special moves to combat enemy players.
Question 2: From a Designer’s Perspective, what skills was the game trying to teach? And how did the game try to teach these skills?
I think the designers tried to create a certain way of building your decks so you could try and counter other people decks. I think the designers were trying to create a game of balance based on numbers and abilities that counter act each other.

Question 1: Why was this game important to you? This was the first video game i played where strategy was key to winning. This game was first game (for me) that took gaming from stupid silly fun to really wanting to be good at it. Question 2: From a Designer’s Perspective, what skills was the game trying to teach? And how did the game try to teach these skills? This game is all strategy. Its concepts teach how to take advantages over an enemy. It shows how thought and timing can be very useful tool when overcoming an adversary. They showed it by you building an army enemy builds an army and who ever countered the other first would claim victory.
Question 1: Why was this game important to you? Chess was first game i ever played. It was first time i ever played someone on a mental playing field. First time using my mind to defeat and opponent over physical force. Question 2: From a Designer’s Perspective, what skills was the game trying to teach? And how did the game try to teach these skills? Chess teaches cause and effect. It shows how one small step in start can have effects on the total outcome of the game. The pieces all have specific moves that allow them to move throughout the board, these differences make for a dynamic and challenging way to play.
