Schrodinger used the mathematical equation also known the Schrodinger Equation to improve the atomic model used at the time. He discovered that the electron didn’t follow the regular orbit. It was in a cloud that spirals around the nucleus. Schrodinger’s concept was put down because it was difficult to complete.
He contrubited that the electrons in an atom could not be counted. But could have a frequency assigned to them. He then put particles and waves together, and how the particles are like waves.
Soddy worked with Earnest Rutherford to help explain that radioactivity is the transmutation of elements. They showed that radioactive elements decay into other elements producing alpha, beta, and gamma radition. He also showed that radioactive elements may have radiation and that thay may have more then one atomic mass although the chemical properties are identical he named this concept isotope, "same place"
He discovered that electrons travaled around the nucleus. And that they did this when giving off or absorbing light. Thus causing them to travel around the nucleus. He used Planck's quantum theory to help him figure this out.
In 1902 He discovered the Theory of Valence. The Theory of Valence is the number of chemical bonds of an atom in an element. He and other scientists had contrubition to this idea.
Thompson discovered electrons. And in 1904 he discovered a way to seperate dofferent kinds of atoms and molecules. He used the plum pudding model to represent the atom
He was a part of a team that helped discover the electron. He had a part in the discovery but his largest contrubitaion was the naming of the discovery. But J. J. Thompson was the one who took credit for the discovery.
He proposed that all elements were made of small particles called atoms. He was not the one to discover atoms he was the one to define them by weight and and have evidence of their existence.
He thought that matter could not be divided indefintely. Like if you took a piece of matter and tore it in half again and again then eventually you woul not be able to break it anymore. He named the smallest particle of matter, atoms.
