VTOReality.com - Virtual TO Reality has no followers yet. Be the first one to follow.
The free blog hosting that VTOR started with closed its doors with a message that they would be paying sites that used their service. VTOR records do not show ever being paid for any of the revenue generated through blogcharm.com.
Was the Bitty Browser the first third party widget added to VTOR? It was definitely the first third party widget mentioned in any blog post at VTOR and happened at post #20.

In Second Life owning more than 512m of land requires paying tier. In VTOR post #8, TD Goodliffe describes his first experience using real money to buy virtual land:
"On Friday 2/4/06 in SL, I registered a second account for the year ($72 USD). This makes my total US contributions to the game just under $200USD since 12/31/2005, which includes buying some items, premium membership fees for the year (buying a year’s worth of service is the best deal).
Saturday I had my first land tier fees coming due for $25 USD so earlier in the week I converted $7,500 Linden into USD using the “Sell $L” option, which at the then exchange rate of $281L per $1 and after the 3.5% transaction fee ended up being converted into $25.76. Gross was $26.70, but Linden Labs (LL) keeps the transaction fee. Sort of like Virtual bank fees."
It might be virtual currency, but it costs real money.

TD Goodliffe, who was new to the Lindend Scripting Language writes about first paid scripting job inside the virtual world of Second Life.
He writes: "Turns out, what they wanted done was something I was able to code fairly quickly. I was paid $3,000L for the work and now have a complete script I can sell to others if I want. I set the script to copy, modify but not resell. This way the person can make as many copies as they want, modify the code but not resell."
