Facebook is banned in Pakistan over a page promoting “Everybody Draw Mohammed Day”
The ban is lifted on May 31, 2010 after Facebook blocks access to the page in Pakistan. A Facebook spokewoman said the company had restricted access to the page in certain countries, including Pakistan, "out of respect for local rules" but had not removed it in others.

In protest to the censorship imposed by Comedy Central, “Everybody Draw Mohammed Day” is conceived by Molly Norris, a Seattle-based cartoonist saying, “That's a cartoonist's job, to be non-PC”. The protest was scheduled for May 20th, 2010, but two days after announcing the event, Norris steps back from idea. In a posting on her website, she said “this particular cartoon has struck a gigantic nerve, something I was totally unprepared for”.

The television program South Park produces two programs which include images of Mohammed disguised in a bear suit. Images of the prophet, along with various audio clips, are censored. Additionally, a monologue by the character “Kyle” is bleeped which reportedly describe the moral of the episode.
The television program South Park produces two programs (Cartoon Wars 1 & 2) containing images of the prophet Mohammed. South Park attempts to air the programs (April 5th/12th 2006), but are denied broadcast by Comedy Central. The episodes were created in response to the fury caused by the Jyllands-Posten affair.
Danish newspaper, Jyllands-Posten publishes 12 editorial cartoon images of Mohammed. Before the end of the year, the incident erupts into a worldwide controversy. The cartoonist, Kurt Westergaard went into hiding amid threats to his life, but emerged last year saying he wanted to live as normal a life as possible.
His house has been heavily fortified and is under close police protection.
