Question 1: Why was this game important to you?
Final Fantasy 7 was the cheese on a hamburger in regards to making a good series the BEST. I had dealt with Chaos, the Emperor, the Cloud of Darkness, and Kefka on numerous occasions, but FF7 was an experience like no other. It was good vs. evil, and that plus millions of things to do gave me more than a reason to stay up past my bedtime. I was willingly obligated to help Cloud and Co. destroy Shinra Inc., and determined to enjoy it every step of the way. R.I.P. Aeris, Sephiroth got what he deserved.
Question 2: From a Design Perspective, What made the game fun?
Squaresoft is known for intense visuals and highly detailed graphics, and the intro shows us why they are the "Kings of CGI." From the moment Cloud hops off the train at the Mako Power Plant, you are thrust into battle against numerous factions all with same goal in mind, world domination. Being the underdogs is always fun from a Designing standpoint, because usually everything is going wrong, and though no one believes things will be fixed, there are always a select few willing to try. In this case, it's Cloud Strife and his band of misfits, and there was a new and different obstacle to overcome every step of the way. Luckily, I was equipped with the tools necessary to battle even the toughest foes. Ruby Weapon, anyone?

Question 1: Why was this game important to you?
Mortal Kombat was one of the first games that truly had blood and gore in it. The fighting was fun, and it allowed me to take out my frustrations on my friends in Versus Mode. Scorpion is King.
Question 2: From a Design Standpoint, what made the game fun?
The introduction of the Fatality was an enormous step in video gaming history. Typing in your command at the end of a match allowed you to totally humiliate your opponent, even after beating him senseless for 2-3 rounds. The characters were very unique, and everyone's favorite was different. The fighting was skill based, unlike the older Street Fighter titles, so it really made Mortal Kombat competitions fierce.

Question 1: Why was this game important?
This game was the definition of a true adventure to me. Unwrapping it that Christmas morning in 1992 was epic for me, as Link and I spent the next few months becoming acquainted with each other. I filled his pockets with thousands of Rupees, and in turn he kept me motivated to help him strike down his nemesis Ganon. Priceless.
Question 2: From a Design Perspective, What made this game fun?
From the Design Perspective, being able to journey across the land of Hyrule, which was big for a video game, made it grand. There were tons of items to play with, and the puzzles were challenging, which kept gamers (myself included) wanting more. The story made me feel as if I was really Link, in his green Middle Age garb and all. Looking back, it was truly a masterpiece.

Question 1: Why made this game fun?
Sonic The Hedgehog quickly became Mario's counterpart in my mind after playing it for the first time. There were significant differences, for example, the Spin Dash, and the levels were designed to resemble a rollercoaster ride, and Sega pulled it off with finesse.
Question 2: From the Design Perspective, why was the game important?
This game was important because it introduced new elements to the platforming genre that would later be used in numerous games, such as Rayman and Aero The Acrobat. Loops, blazing fast speed that would make a T1 internet connection look like a sloth covered in molasses, and unique level design captivated us all, and is still the standard for most games of its kind.

Question 1: Why was this game important to you?
Super Mario Bros. was the very first game I was introduced to as a youth, and it marked the beginning of my epic journey into the world of gaming.
Question 2: From a Design Perspective, What made the game fun?
After going back and playing games prior to Super Mario Bros., the amount of control that I had over my character was astounding. I could not only leap, but the amount of control I had over my jumping was increased, which made the interaction aspect of the game ground-breaking.
