According to reports, investigators met with employees of the Player's Club Restaurant to discuss events associated with the night before and of the crash. Investigators interviewed Lisa Pembleton, the woman who answered a knock on her door from Goodman the night of the accident. According to investigators, Goodman knocked on her door and asked to use her cell phone. Goodman then dialed a Georgia telephone number and then asked her if he should call 911 -- she told him that she thought he should. At this time investigators visited John Goodman at Wellington Regional Medical center to conduct an impairment assessment on him. According to reports, investigators said Goodman's eyes were "bloodshot and glassy" and his movements were slow and his speech was "slurred" when he spoke. Investigators also said, there was a "strong odor of an unknown alcoholic beverage coming from his breath as (Goodman) spoke," according to reports.
According to investigators, the Georgia number that Goodman called from Lisa Pembleton's cell phone, called Pembleton's number back at this time. According to reports, Goodman called Carlos Pravas a friend of Heather Colby, Goodman's girlfriend.
At 1:55 a.m. John Goodman calls 911 to report the accident, according to investigators. The call was placed 54 minutes after the accident was reported. In the call Goodman says his phone died and that he walked to a nearby home to find a phone. Throughout the call Goodman asks the 911 operator if everyone involved is OK and is unable to tell details of the event. During the call Goodman says he is hurt but is OK.

According to investigators, Goodman walked away from the accident site and knocked on the door of Lisa Pembleton's trailer (4193 120th Avenue South) and asked to use her cell phone. Goodman then dialed a number in Georgia, according to reports and then asked Pempleton if he should call 911. Pembleton told her he should call 911 according to reports.
Palm Beach County Sheriff's Deputy Mitch Reiger was the first Deputy to arrive at the scene of the accident. According to reports, Rieger said he saw a damaged Bentley on the side of the road and a vehicle upside-down in the canal. Rieger called a tow truck to recover the vehicle in the canal at 1:38 a.m. and Rieger said the owner of the Bentley was not at the scene of the accident when he arrived.
The car accident involving John Goodman and Scott Wilson was reported to authorities at this time. It occurred at the intersection of Lake Worth Road and 120th Avenue South in the city limits of Wellington, Florida in Palm Beach County. Goodman was driving a black 2007 Bentley GTC convertible with a Texas license plate. Wilson was driving a 2006 gold Hyundai Sonata with a Florida license plate.
