Working with Naomi Eyers, Ali was asked to join Australia girl group The Fabulous Singlettes, working in Australia and Hong Kong and then on to London where they appeared in their own show STOP IN THE NAME OF LOVE at The Piccadilly, Comedy and Duke of York's Theatres.
The group had a one hour special on ITV and a pilot sitcom written for them for the BBC.
Ali was asked to play Ilse von Hesse in the original Australian cast of NINE. Although the show toured nationally, Alison left the show after the Melbourne run.
Alison was asked to perform with Liz Lord, Danielle Gaha & Naomi Eyers, singing "Are you watching me now" from A Star is Born. This was to be an investment in her future.
Ali was asked to be a contestant on tv talent show Star Search. A lot of professional singers and dancers competed. Ali appeared seven times making it through to the Grand Final.
Alison appeared on TV talent show Safeway New Faces, making her way through to the Grand Final where she was beaten by a comedian. It was at this point that she decided she needed to turn to comedy if she was going to succeed... and cut her fringe!
Alison made four appearances on TV Talent Show Stairway to the Stars, making her way through to the Grand Final where she was beaten by Julie West who sang "My boy Bill" in blue chiffon.
