The Battle of Thames took place near Chatham-Kent, Ontario, on October 5, 1813. The battle resulted in an American victory over the British and Indian Confederation and the death of the Indian leader, Tecumseh.
On September 10, 1813,commanded by Matthew Perry, nine American ships captured six ships of the British Royal Navy and took control of Lake Erie.
The Batlle of York was fought on April 27, 1813, between the US and the British Empire. It took place in present day Toronto, Ontario. The Americans claimed victory and the Great Lakes, with the order of retreat from the British commander, Roger Hale Sheaffe. Although the Americans won the battle their general, Zebulon Pike, was killed.
On August 19, 1812 ,commanded by Isaac Hull, the USS Constitution defeated the HMS Guerriere, near the coast of New Jersey. The US sailors nicknamed their ship "Old Ironsides" because of all of the heavy blows it withstood.
The British wanted Fort Mackinac, so they gathered as many men as possibly. Well They gathered enough people to outnumber the Navtive Americans. The Native Americans surrendered and the British got the Fort.
In 1812, the US wanted to seize Canada, not for the land, but because the Indians were getting guns from the British and were a serious problem. American leaders thought Canada would be easily taken. They were completely wrong. William Hull lead his army into Canada and failed miserably in all attempts of battle.
The British kept impressing the Americans and wouldnt stop. President Madison asked the congress to declare war against Great Britian. 17 days after, on June 18, 1812 they offical declared war against the British.
The Battle of Tippecanoe started with the white people on the natives land.(The prophets and the William Henry Harrison's Army) The Battle took place in Tippecanoe, Indiana. Most natives died during the attack. The native americans were mad at the whites so they took away the prophets powers and nearly killed him!
The British fired on the American's ship because the Americans didnt want to board the British ship. The british shot there gun 22 times at the Americans. 3 men died and 19 wounded.
The British people impressed the American and forced them to work on their ships. Impress means kipnapped.The ships were in Altantic Ocean.
