I became a PCMI TESOL MA candidate and started in September 2008
I am currently studying Language Analysis, Sociolinguistics, Educational Research Methods, CALL pedagogy, Educational Podcasting and Principles and Practices in teaching.
I am interested in teaching EFL in Japan and or China. I am also interested in Intensive English Language programs, Education and Technology integration, and Content and Project-based education.
My research interests include Language and Culture, Language Rights, Project-based education and CALL.
I became a Peace Corps candidate as part of my graduate studies
I began to work for McMenamins in Eugene Oregon. I was a line cook and my responsibilities included:
Cooking food in a timely and professional manner.
Preparing food for the food for the following day.
Maintaining a clean and stocked kitchen .
I worked for the museum from June 06 to December 06.
I was a Field Technician/Archaeologist.
My responsibilities included:
Responsible for conducting field work and office work in a scientific and professional manner.
Helped with the analysis of cultural data, including map making, cataloging and data entry.
Conducted pedestrian surveys, worked on excavations and participated in all phases of projects.
I graduated from the University Of Oregon June 2006.
I received my bachelors degree in Anthropology.
I studied two years of French and one year of Japanese.
I volunteered in the Non-traditional Students Union.
I participated in the fencing club.
I was a student at Craters of the Moon National Park field school.
I learned all the basics of archaeological field work related to pedestrian surveys including: survey methods, map reading, using a compass, GPS, site related paper work, artifact and artifact/feature drawing and photography.
I also learned all the basics of excavation including: excavation methods, squaring up test pits, proper measuring techniques, excavation related paper work, basic cave excavation and basic cave mapping techniques.
I volunteered as a field technician and helped with test pit excavation and data collection.
I have been developing the following professional skills: I am familiar with MS Excel, MS word, Open Office, GIMP, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and Arc GIS.
I finished my associates of arts Oregon transfer degree in 2003
My concentrated on sociology and anthropology.
I began to work for University Housing in Jan 01 to June 06. I was member of the kitchen staff and my responsibilities included:
Cooking and preparing meals under the supervision of lead cook.
Worked at the cash register scanning student cards and handling cash.
Providing a high level of customer service while working on line and in the dinning area.
Cleaning and sanitizing work area while working and after shift.
I graduated from North Salem High School in 1997. I concentrated on video production and graphic design. I participated in the video club and science dudes.
I was born in Salem Oregon.
