  oleg attempted to extend Kiev to the south, and was able to successfuly over take Constantinople. Legand has it he nailed his ships to the city gates to celabrate his victory.he then damanded a trade agreement begining the connection beteen Byzantine Europe and Russia.

  Rus extens their control far behond the kiev.they Defeted the khazars and freed many slavic tribs in doing so the state Kievan became Kievian Rus.

  Oleg the successor of Rurik ruler of Rus, leaves moves soulth to Keiv where he unites the hole region and personaly ruled over it. the state was then named after the origanal town Kiev.

• Cyril and Methodius come to Moravia

  The brothers who were educated in Greek and Slav helped to translate Greek Bibles into Slav so more people could have access to them. This also helped to inprove the Slav language. this eventualy lead to a wide spread of cristianty all over Russia.
