Internet was originally developed by DARPA, to share information and defense reaserch. It was originally just emails and FTP sites and the Usnet where scientists could ask and answer eachothers questions. The first messages were passed in 1969. The first working television system was made in 1928 by Philo Farnsworth. He first demonstrated to the news media on 1st september 1928 , televising a motion picture film. The earliest newspapers were cheap "penny dreadfuls". Together with the France weekly "arm-chair novels", this publications were the roots of the modern magazines.
