Said if he was given the presidency he would get the Ch'ing to give up. He was appointed President on February 1st, 1912. He then oppressed and rebellions, and got rid of Parliament and became dictator in 1914.
"Father of the Revolution". Helped establish a republic in China (National Assembly of the Republic of China). Believed in Nationalism, democracy, and the people's livelihood.
Also known as the "Righteous Harmony Society Movement". It was a rebellion against the Western influence in China. The uprisings took places in the European Spheres of Influences.
The Chinese revolution begins with the fall of Ch'ing Dynasty. The fall of the Ch'ing meant that new means of power (like a republic) could take over. However not all people wanted it because they liked the Ch'ing. And the Western presence was being greatly resented during the revolution.
