In 1904 Robert Seaman died. Nellie was miserable.
Nellie married a man named Robert Seaman in 1895. They were very happy together.
Nellie arrived back in New York after going around the world in LESS than eighty days. Yes Nellie beat the record by going around the world in 72 days, 6 hours, 11 minutes, and 14 seconds.
Nellie started working for the New York World. She didn't have any inspiration so after reading the book around the world in eighty days by Jules, Verne she had an idea. She wanted to go around the world in LESS than eighty days. Her bosses said yes and so she started her journey.
Nellie and her family moved to Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. Nellie was in town one day and saw an article that made her mad. Nellie went home and wrote to the editor complaining about the article. The editor asked what she would write about. After Nellie told him he hired her immediately.
Nellie was born in Cochran Mills, Pennsylvania and had fifteen siblings. She lives with her mom and dad. Her father died when Nellie was six.
