Equiano finally saves enough money to get free. He manages to buy his freedom and continued to sail. Eventually he got recaptured and hung from a sail by his hands and legs. He begged for mercy and was saved.
Equiano is sold to a Virginian plant and treated horribly. Then he was sold to a rich man. Again he was mistaken in thinking he would be adopted than got sold again.
Equiano was soon sold again. he was surprised by this fact and debated with his previous owner to not let him go. he also pointed out the falsehood of slavery.
Equiano was determined to escape. Even though his master was nice to him. Eventually he was sold again. A wealthy widow then purchased him and he began to think that she would adopt him.
Slaves were cramped into small spaces that reeked of poop and sickness. Equiano happened to survive by being allowed to go on deck temporarily. The slave trader's crew and captain desperately try to maintain the slave's health.
Equiano lived in a wealthy African home. He even enjoyed some slaves of his own(though they were treated well). Then some people came and kidnapped him and his sister. They got separated and never saw each other again.
