In this stimulation, I lived to be 75 years of age. I died of diabetes.
Standard of living is the level of material comfort. My standard of living in Algeria is high because my husband had a good job and I enherited a lot of money. Three things in my Real Life that show my standard of living is living in an above average house, eating adiquettly, and having enough money to donate to charity. Colonization has influenced the standard of living in Algeria by providing some healthcare, and building schools.
One difficulty I faced in my life was contracting diabetes. Diabetes makes the body unable to produce or use glucose. This common in Algeria. "Out of 35 million people in Algeria, 2.5 of them have diabetes" (novonordisk.com). This disease impacts Algeria becuase it could spread to the next generation. Something Algeria could do to stop this disease from spreading, is providing more healthcare.
GDP means the total value of goods and services pruduced in a year. The GDP in Algeria is $2,498.60. As a Scavenger of Used Goods I make 5,000 diners monthly. In U.S. currency I make $70.08.
Literacy Rate means the number of people in a given area that know how to read and write. The literacy rate in Algeria is 75%. Something in my "Real Life" that illustrates this education level, is that my 16 year old son Adil was qualified to go to college.
There was local fighting in my area. I decided not to do anything.
My life expectancy in Algeria is between 67-69 years, compared to 78 years in the United States. One reason for this difference is could be that the U.S. has less risk of infection. Two details about my life in Algeria is that I am a Sunni Muslim, and I have a sister.
The R.U.F., U.N., and Sierra Leona Government were involved in this conflict. What happened was that the R.U.F. took over Sierra Leone diamond mines to make money. They kidnapped and forced citizens to work in the mines. Europe didn't play a role in this, except that they may have purchased the "blood diamonds". This kind of conflict would be classified as resource distribution and corruption. People living in Sierra Leone might leave because of all the fighting and killing. People from other countries might come because they could make money from the diamond mines in Sierra Leone. This conflict started in 1991 and ended 2002, in Sierra Leone.
Algeria became independent from France after the FLN signed peace treaty with France. Despite becoming independent, one way France's influence is still seen is in language and religion.
