There was a growing demand for war in France. The leaders thought that the best way to prevent foreign powers interfering was to defeat them and spread the revolution abroad. As an excuse for war the French government demanded that the Austrian Emperor give up an agreement that he had against France. He refused, so France declared war on Austria. Prussia then allied itself with Austria.

The Third Estate delegates, mostly
members of the bourgeoisie whose views had been shaped by the
Enlightenment, were eager to make changes in the government. They
insisted that all three estates meet together and that each delegate
have a vote. This would give the advantage to the Third Estate, which
had as many delegates as the other two estates combined.

The march on versailles is also known as The Bread March of Women, and The Women's March on Versailles,which was an event in the French Revolution. Although the National Assembly had taken the Tennis Court Oath and the Bastille had fallen at the hands of the crowd, the poor women of Paris still found that there was a considerable bread shortage and the prices were very high.
