U.S. gains Cuba from Spain through the treaty of paris. U.S. controls Cuba till 1902 and grants independent to Cuba. U.S. believed that they were only suitable government to rule over Cuba, so they controlled till 1902. However U.S. government took tip of Cuba as their territory and added Platt amendment which allows U.S. to interfere with Cuba's policy. This action shows that U.S. saw themselves superior than the other countries around them.
