When Neil Armstrong first set foot on the moon he said these words: "One small step for (a) man; one giant leap for mankind."
Neil Armstrong, Michael Collins, and Edwin Aldin jr. lifted off without fault from John F. Kennedy Space Center.
Neil was the commander of Gemini 8 and completed the first ever docking in space successfully. However, on the trip home Gemini 8 developed a problem, so the mission was aborted.
Neil was fulfilling his childhood dream when he attended Purdue. He was the second person in his family to do so.
Neil was a qualified pilot at age sixteen. He may not have known it then, but Neil was already preparing for his long journey.
Neil was born in Wapakoneta, Ohio. He was the oldest of three children and lived in a blue house.
