She was burried in London. She was 76.
Soldiers and other fans of Mary Seacole held 4 nights of celebration for Mary in London. It was meant to raise money for her. There was fireworks, music, and partying. Mary was very happy. In the end, they lost the money, so Mary didn't get much.
Mary wrote a book about her life when she was 52. It sold lots and lots of copies. You can read it by clicking on the picture!

Mary travelled by ship, aged 50 to the war to help out. She arrived in Scuttari, Turkey.
She set up the British Hotel when she got there. It was a shop, a hotel and a hospital. Mary helped wounded soldiers whichever side they fought on, and lots of people survived because of her care.

Her mother was a free black woman and her father was a Scottish Army officer. Her mother worked as a "doctor" although she had not done any exams. She made her own medicines and was really people came from miles around to buy them.
