Question 1: What were the details of the event? Now every console, by having motion controllers, are able to support various motion based games. Which brings costumers out of their couches to play various games. By having swords, baseball bats, steering wheels, and guns controller add-ons, the Wii's, and the PS3's controller have a more decent appearance related to the games they have. But the Kinect has only one add-on, you, as a controller. Now the battle for the best console turns in a new direction and keeps on to the ultimate revolution. Question 1: What were the details of the event? EA shut down Pandemic Studios letting go around 200 people. EA assure that Pandemic's brands and franchises will live on. Question 2: Why was the event important to the industry? Among those let go were: Andrew Goldman, Josh Resnick, and Greg Borrud. WB decided to close the Newcastle Studio and not acquire the San Diego Studio, but it gave a Fatality by 60 days to San Diego's personnel, to find an owner. Question 2: Why was the event important to the industry? Major industry publishers are closing some of the most important developing studios from our video game history. Question 1: What were the details of the event? Millions of people have registered on social networks like Facebook, MySpace, Bebo, and Hi5. This made a new target for developers: social games. Question 2: Why was the event important to the industry? This makes a great start for indie games developers. Question 1: What were the details of the event? The developers of the Duke Nukem Franchise stopped receiving funds from Take-Two, therefore were closed before fulfilling their major game release: "Duke Nukem Forever". Question 2: Why was the event important to the industry? A great developing company from the Industry, like 3D Realms worked over 12 years on their Duke Nukem Forever project and in return they received an unemployment check. Question 1: What were the details of the event? The 2007 shortage of Wii consoles left consumers Wii-less for the Christmas season. A similar event had happened prior to the Wii release date. Question 1: What were the details of the event? Rockstar created a mod in the Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas game, called "Hot Coffee" on which players were allowed to have sex with women. This mod, according to Rockstar, was "never meant to be found". Rockstar had to create patch for the game to prevent the ESRB rating change from M for Mature to AO for Adults Only. Question 2: Why was the event important to the industry? This event generated losses for Take-Two Interactive. They lost over a million dollars by settling to a lawsuit agreement of returning $35 to the clients that bought a copy before July 20th, 2005 and swore that the game offended them. Question 1: What were the details of the event? Due to the lack of their games sales, Capcom decided to shut down this creative and artistic studio. With masterpieces like Viewtiful Joe 2 and Okami, Clover Studios is one to be missed. Question 2: Why was the event important to the industry? By mainly developing party, casual and family video games, the Nintendo Wii is bringing families to play together again in the living room of their homes. Question 2: Why was the event important to the industry? It dethroned the PC from being the best casual games console, and thanks to the Wii, more casual gamers, and games, are emerging. Question 1: What were the details of the event? Guitar Hero made of the music genre, one of the best selling ones. The game was created by Red Octane and Harmonix and was a huge sellout because for the first time, players could actually see themselves playing an instrument in a video game. After Harmonix was separated from the franchise, the real battle for the best music game began, Guitar Hero vs. Rock Band. For better or for worse, nowadays you can see music games everywhere. The importance comes from the music industry primary, now more and more artists want to form part of this revolution, bringing with them more consumers that purchase these games, only to play that song as performed by his/her favorite artist.
