John Wilkes Booth and David Herold were captured by the 16th cavalry of the Union Army at the Garrett's farm early in the morning. Booth and Herold were betrayed by the Garrett's who were hiding them initially, but then turned them in. Soldier Boston Corbett shot Booth and mortally wounded him while Herold surrendered.

Assassination attempt of Seward at his home by Lewis Powell and David Herold while he was recovering from a carriage accident. His daughter Fanny, son Augustus and Frederick. Sergeant Robinson was also there. They tried to protect him and were able to save his life from Powell. Herold and Powell both escape the Seward home.
Assassination of Lincoln at Ford's Theatre on the night of April 14th. at 10:15 p.m.John Wilkes Booth escapes virtually unharmed.
