  1959

  Reverse Osmosis was invented by Prof Reid of the University of Flordia. This process cleans the salts and dirt from the water by using the membrane as a filter.

• Chlorine used for cleaning municiplan water
  1908

  Chlorine starts being used to clean water on a large scale because it eliminates diseases such as chlorea and typhoid.
