Adolph Hitler Invades Poland
After promising NOT to invade Poland in 1934, Adolph Hitler breaks his promise and sends his troops into Poland in the Fall of 1939 with little opposition.
His "lightening war" technique, known as blitzkreig, would demonstrate the almost unstoppable power of the German military.
This event is generally considered the beginning of World War II in Europe.
