Erik the Red arrived at the new land before winter. He spent the winter on an island called Eriksey (of course, named after himself). He spent the rest of the exile at Greenland.
Eric the Red was exiled for killing four men. Two men in one and two more in another. Eric decided to go on a voyage to find the land Gunnbjorn Olfsson saw. Eric heard about Olfsson from stories a fellow viking told him.
