This important event was the event that changed history and how we see war. After long battles in the islands and in land, Japan was not showing any signs of surrendering. Frustrated, the U.S. was looking for some way to make Japan surrender. It all came from the Manhattan project group, with some of the ingenious people came up with the reasoning of atomic device, the idea has lead them to soon plutonium bomb. A bomb that is so powerful they didn't know the effects for it. finally after many researching they came up with the Atomic Bomb. It was tested and used against the Japanese people. the bomb was first dropped on Hiroshima killing 40,000 people and still no sign of surrender then the second bomb was dropped on Nagasaki killing 80,000 people. people were disintegrated in seconds. after few hours later Japan has surrendered.

The battle at Okinawa was the last battle that was fought in the pacific. It was Japans last holding their ground territory. It was the biggest battle in the pacific in world war 2. Japanese were using same Technics they were using in the battle of Iwo Jima, they dig holes and make caves and bunkers to surprise attack their enemy. Many Americans died, and many civilians died for japan. But in the end both of the generals has died and Japan loses

The battle of Iwo Jima was important because it was the battle where Americans would try to take over the island because of the airfields. So returning damaged airplanes coming back from Japan can be repaired or refueled. Also if the U.S. takes over this island then it would be one step closer to invading Japan. The death toll of American troops were 5,900 dead and 17,400 wounded. The bloodiest battle.

The battle of the Bulge was the major fight the Nazi was giving to the allies to stand there grounds. Its objective was to split the allies and hit them hard with blitzkrieg. The allies in here were not experienced fighter but they were left to defend off the German. Germany desperately needing to win the war they did everything they could to try to force the allies push back. Battles took in all terrains from rugged, to wet roads. In the end the Allies give there final push to push back Germany then later germany comes to a defeat.

The Invasion of Normandy was the final and last push of the Allies but for Germans it was there last battle to defend their Territory. Thousands of American troops and British and Canadians storm the beach of Normandy to take out the German force. In the end it was an victory to the Allies.

On July 10, 1943 operation Husky, another name for invasion Sicily. The Italians had failed to stop the advancement of the allies and soon they lost the battle of Sicily. Outraged the Italian people overthrows Mussolini and arrests him. Italian people wants democracy so they switch side to the Allies. Now the allies had only one country to worry about: the German Force.

Guadalcanal was when Japanese was taking over the little islands such as the Philippines, Wake, Guam, Hong Kong, and the Malay Peninsula to build a airfield so they would be closer to the U.S. for invading U.S. Since the Japanese were in these several islands the allies have split into groups to take these places back.

The battle of Stalingrad was German's biggest defeat. As the greed for more expansion increased for the Germans they wanted to expend to Moscow Russia to take the resources there. German took many prisoners of the soviet union. But Russia would fight back because the harsh cold was on there side, Germany soldiers were not used to this kind of weather. So later the soviet union would push back the Germans out of there capital and make them lose.

The day December 7, 1941 will not be forgotten by most Americans because it was the first time America was attack in our home soil by another country and we were surprised . Around 8am in the morning Sunday in Honolulu, Hawaii america is interrupted by the noise of planes they thought it was a drill, but it was not hundreds of planes were in the air with the red dot. Then the first bomb had dropped on the ships in pearl harbor which shocked the Americans to their feet trying to react to the situation by too many planes have caught them off guarded.
In less then 3 hours 18 ships were destroyed and 300 planes were destroyed, 2500 men were killed and at least 1000 are wounded. This was a turning point for america just 10 hours later America declares war on japan.

The German had an agreement with Soviet that they will not using military force on each other. Both side had saw this as keeping peace with one another, as German expansion was getting out of control German decided to keep moving east to the Soviet union for more land. The Soviets saw this as a threat. But they come to an agreement to split Polland into two parts for control.
