Today Muhammad Ali is still fighting Parkensons Deseise. He also is helping other people to know what Parkensons is. He is still getting slower due to his Parkensons.
Ali got a award that is the highest honor that a suvilion could have. The medal was gave to him by president Bush. It was the medal of freedom.
Muhammad Ali held the torch in the 1996 Olympics. He was slow and every one could tell that he was in pain and it showed. But it was a great honor to hold the torch and Ali was very happy. But becasue of Parkensons you could not tell by his face that he was happy.
Ali tells the public that he has Parkensons Disease. Parkensons is a disorder in your brain that cause you to be slower and your muscles will not work as well. Parkensons also causes you to have a slured speach.
Ali fought against Trevor Burbic. He lost this fight and then he retired. He finally retired because he was getting slower and his body wasnt functioning right. This was the final fight of "The Greatest".
Ali lost his title but he won it back. He fought Lion Spinks to regain his title. This fight was another long 15 rounds. In this fight he did the rope-a-dope.
Ali fought Ken Nortin and won. He won in the 15th round. He was suffering and every one wanted him to stop but he just kept going. But he was determined to win and he stuck it out.
Ali won the fight against Frazier. They were fighting in Manilla. Manilla is a city in the Philippines.
Ali fought against George Forman in Zaire. He won this fight. This fight made his carrier huge. This fights purse was worth 10 million dollars. This was the biggest purse that they had ever had. The people in Zaire were America were.
Ali fought many fights to try to get "his" title back. He was behind due to him not having his licence. So he had to fight more and more people for three years from 1971 to 1974.
The court finaly gave Ali back his licence. This ment that he would be able to box again. But he had already missed his prime years of boxing and was now getting old for a boxer.
Ali fought Frazier and lost. This was Ali's first loss in his whole boxing carrier. this was inportant because this was the fight to win the heavy weight championships.
Ali fought Jerry Quarry and won. He beat Quarry on the 15th round.
After Ali refused to go to the Vietnam war the court decided to take his licence away for 3 years. They did this because it was a serius offence to deny going to war. His licence was suspended from 1967 to 1970.

Cassius changed his name to Muhammad Ali. He aslo told every one that he has become a Muslim. He changed his name so he would not have to go by his slave name.
Cassius Clay fought Sonny Liston and won. This was one of Cassius' best fights and one of the most important.
Clay fought Powel and Jones and Cooper won all of the fights. When he fought Cooper he got hit in the head really hard. He also got to fight in the campion ships.
Cassius Clay won the gold medal in the 1960s Olympics. The olympics were in Rome. When he came home he went into a local resterant and got kicked out. Then with rage me threw his medal into the Ohio River.
Cassius was at a auditorium for a black trade show when his bike was stolen. When he left the auditorium he noticed that his Schwin bike had been stolen. So he went into the auditorium and asked Joe Martin (a police officer) to teach him how to box.
Cassius, Sr. and Odessa Clay had a baby boy in Louisville, Kentucky. Clay was born in the segragated west.
