Location: State House in Philadelphia. Signed at the same place where the Declaration was signed.
At the end of the war both sides released surviving prisoners.
On September 3rd 1783 the Treaty of Paris, Congress ratified it.
Victory secured independence and made a world changing event.
Americans withdrew from the war leaving a British victory.
Located in Pennsylania was the camp site for the Continental Army 1777-1778
Battles were fought 18 days apart 9 miles apart and considered the turning point in the war.

George Washingtons troops won and after they tried to fleed to Cornwallis in Trenton.!
This is when the Declaration of Independence. A document showing that America is free from British rule.
Common Sense convinced Americans that breaking away from British was the right thing to do
Battle when Americans lost, but Americans killed many British soldiers so it was sort of a victory.
They agreed to create a continental army.
Delegates from all the colonies met in Philadelphia. Georgia did not attend. They voted to ban all trade with England until Intolerable Acts were replealed. They also told each colony to begin training troops. Georgia aggred to do all of this even though no delegates were sent.
Parllisment passed a series of laws to punish Massachussettsand served as a warning to other colonies. One of them closed to Boston Port until the tea was paid for.
Tea was very popular in the colonies and everyone drank it. Most was smuggled in from Holland. Tea Act gave the British control of the tea. It would arrive in ports and could only be sold by merchants.
Colinists dressed as Native Americans boarded three of the British tea ships. They destroyed 342 of the cases so that England could see how much they hate this new law. England wanted money back for the cost of all the wasted tea but Colinists refused to.
A group of sailers and redcoats started to trade insults. Soonly enough a fight broke out then shots were fired. 5 was the amount of deaths because of this incident

A law passed that required some colonists to have British soldiers living in there home and pay for there meals.
Required all documents to carry a stamp. This stamp showed that a tax has been paid to England for the stamp. Leaders and colonitsts protested. Stamps could only be bought by a silver coin which were very rare in the colony

King or Queen could not change the laws unless Parliment agreed. Also gave free elections. Fines and punishments could no longer be given also had the right to talk bad about royalty without getting arrested. This made the English happy

This constutuition gave voting rights to non-church members and limited the goverments power. Also decided to expand the represenative goverment.
Gave self-goverment to the new colonists. Colonists had to follow the rules of the colony so they colony would crash.
Colonists became annoyed at the strict rules from the governor that they wanted more local control so they elected reprasentaves. They would meet once a year in an assembly.
Jamestown was founded in 1763 when the Virginia company of London finaced a expedition to the new world. More than 100 colonists were on the boat going to the New World. They only wanted to come because they were told that there was gold and other riches. Once they got there instead of taking time to start the colony(Building hosues, and searching for food) they spend there day searching for gold even though there was no gold. Summers were very hot and humid, Winters were freezing cold.
A group forced the king to sign this document. King needed money for the war to pay for all the expenses. Property that they owned could NOT be taken away from them by the king. They could also only be punished by people at the same social rank as them
