The Black Plague began in Africa and quickly made its way into Europe killing millions of people along the way. The disease spread from fleas to rats and then on to people.
In 1324 Mansa Musa traveled eastward with 60,000 servants richly dressed. He traveled to Cairo which was a very large city at that time and left a strong impression because of his generous gifts and expenditures. It stimulated the interest in this region of the world. Many people traveled to Africa in search of gold.
In the 1095 Pope Urban the ll became upset becuase of the prosicution of Christians in Jerusalem and wanted to take back the city. So he told soldiers that the Musslims were an accursed race and should be killed.
The catholic orthodox schism began in 1054 because of differences between the two religions. It is important because the split of the religions lead to more branches splitting and dividing into individual religions.

In 732 Islamic spread and expansion into western Europe was stopped when the musslims were defeated at the battel of Tours in France. This was important becuase life in western Europe could've dramatically changed if the spread of Islam had continued
Islamic Armies conquered the cities of Jerusalem and Damascas. This was important because these were the two main cities of Christians and Jews. They soon took over the citys and made them important Islamic cities.
The sunni and Shitte split at the death of Muhammad. They fought over who should be the new leader. Some thought that the caliph should be one of Muhammad’s sucssesors and others believed differently.
Islam was founded in 630 by Muhammed, who Muslims believe was Allah’s most important prophet. He was exiled from Mecca and soon returned with an army eventually making everyone is the city Islamic.
Saint Cyrill spread Christianity into Russia in the 540s bc. He was important because he created a new language and taught the people of the slavs his language and taught them Christianity.
