This is the day that we Americans celebrate every year, the day that we officially broke off from england. The leader of the S.C.C., John Hancock, has the largest signature on the DOI because he wanted to be able to see his signature without wearing his glasses.

Size of the armies: 2,400 British troops against 1,500 Americans.
The British grenadiers, light infantry and battalion company men wore red coats, the headgear of the companies, bearskin fronted mitre caps, tricorne hats and caps, and were armed with muskets and bayonets. The British had light guns and were supported by the heavy guns of the fleet. The Americans were armed with muskets or whatever firearms they could obtain, a few bayonets and some light guns.

The fights that broke out at lexington were not your average school yard fight, this was a serious fight that made a lot of people see how real things were.
This all started out as some people taunting a british soldier and then a mob forming, the soldier got scared and fired into the mob, killing 5 people including a slave.
