Robin Malau has no followers yet. Be the first one to follow.
I am not into World Cup, that is probably why I missed this one hell of a news (and maybe some of you too). Apparently, Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez was the fastest player in World Cup 2010 according to FIFA stats.
Found this from Sport.co.uk:
Manchester United’s new signing Javier Hernandez, who will wear the number 14 shirt at Old Trafford in his debut Premier League season, was the quickest player at the World Cup finals according to FIFA’s stats.
Hernandez’s top speed was clocked at 19.97 mph, which made him the speediest player on show.
Chicharitooooooooo!

Evra is one of our best player of this season and currently the best left back in the world (i’m biased, whatever!). He reveal how every United player are under pressure to be on the top of their game at all times and is constantly worried about keeping his place in the side:
‘This club is all about winning and nothing else is acceptable. I’m lucky enough to have been in a side that’s won the last three titles and I don’t want that to stop. If you’re inclined to want to sit back and rest on your laurels you will soon be told about it. At United, if you have a good game, you’ll find yourself on the bench. It’s only if you’re on the very top of your form that you will hold on to your place.”
We have the perfect boss for our club’s calibre. Long may this continue!

Haters call it luck (10 times so far, luck?), but Darren Fletcher explain it perfectly (i think the same way when i see 3 Pompey own goals at Old Trafford last weekend):
“The own goals come from putting teams under pressure. If you put the ball into the right areas, it is difficult to defend. When you look at all these own goals there is always a United player coming in behind them who could easily tap the ball into the net. If we can put the ball between the goalkeeper and the defence and one of your players can get on it, great. But it certainly causes problems for defenders and fortunately for us, they have been knocking them into their own net.”
For fun: wouldn’t it be nice to see John Terry splash the ball to his own net at Old Trafford? Nevermind

The Reds are drawn against Porto. No Reds will forget self proclaimed special one dancing at Old Trafford when they equalized in the final minute that later become European Champions. Anyway, we will face opponents both in quarter, and if we pass, the semis at home in the first leg. Potential opponents in the semis are Arsenal or Villareal. Bring them on.
In other part of the draws, there comes favorites Barcelona against strong Germany side Bayern Munchen, while 2 other English sides Chelsea and Liverpool faces each other. Whatever.
Good draws indeed.
Anyways, Fulham is next in the EPL this weekend. Time to forget last weekend’s lost and retain the EPL medal. Remember we’re the reigning Champions, 4 points clear and a game in hand against the nearest enemy.

It wasn’t the best performance but if i had to choose, i’d rather win ugly than dominating but failed to score.
In my view, the much hyped game last night wasn’t as classic as media predicted. Although it was actually nervy at times seeing our veteran midfielder, Paul Sholes, often misspasses. However, early 1st half goal from Vidic gave me huge relieve and the rest was history. You can read complete match report at the official site.
There’s also a special Manager’s Column in the official site where SAF explains what happened at the Inter game. You need to log in to One United to read the new news feature.

The Carling Cup 2008/2009 final will be held at Wembley in several hours. No matter who Sir Alex plan to play as his starting 11, i just want to say that i want the lads to win it. It doesn’t matter whether Carling Cup is second rate cup or whatever people call it, i want Manchester United to win this final.
So i hope the lads give their all tonight (my time), beat Harry Hotspurs, put Roman Pavlyuchenko’s dream back to bed where it belongs and bring the cup to Old Trafford.

I am waiting for tomorrow’s Carling Cup final i didn’t realize that some Premiership matches are actually happened today. I open my feed reader and found this article from The Sun reporting Liverpool beaten by Middlesbrough, leaped by Chelsea on the Premier League table.
I know we’re not winning anything yet (it would be idiotic to even think that way), but ever since Rafael Benitez revealed the list which he believes were ‘facts’ against our boss, his team went nowhere but down.
It’s not that this blog is going to turn into Manchester United blog with Liverpool influenced posts, but seeing these user comments on The Sun’s article, seem like the Manchester United fans are having all the fun. So i want to take part, in fact this post’s title is true, i laughed to tears!
Ok, whatever, back to Manchester United. I hope we can win in Sunday.

I missed 2 crucial games for my freelance lecturing job that happened every month at around 1000 miles apart from Bali (where i live). The job was a good fun and i’m happier to find out later the Reds are doing okay.
I watched the Blackburn highlights, in which we won 2-1 and i think we missed Vidic & EVDS at the back. The mistake Kuszack made seems likely could answer the question why he will never be our no.1 goalkeeper. Perhaps i’m too harsh and probably also wrong, but that was a terrible mistake regarding our club standard he made along with Rio, that let Santa Cruz score his goal. However, it’s nice to see Ronaldo’s awesome free kick back and Roo’s determination to score could help us retain 7 point lead ahead of the nearest enemy, who could only drawn at their home with Man Citeh (mmppphhhh… hahah!). No trophies are won in February but hey it’s a healthy lead considering how we start this season!
On Inter game that sees us 0-0 draw with the Italian champions, i think i have 3 words to say to that self proclaimed the special one (my ass!): FUCK OFF MOURINHO! It’s a pity to see he failed to shake hands with our boss only because his team was (almost) completely outplayed in their own backyard. Although, the cup rules have been said that, if only they could score a goal at the second leg in Old Trafford, they have a good chances to knock the champions out of the Champions League. However, we have good records at home, so bring them on (with their coach)!
Next stop is Harry Redknapp’s Tottenham Hotspurs in Carling Cup Final this weekend at Wembley. We lost to Harry’s Portsmouth last year in the FA Cup that hold us from getting another Treble trophies. A win will be of course a super nice revenge.

From FIFA:
“Under the chairmanship of Marcel Mathier (Switzerland), the FIFA Disciplinary Committee today reviewed a number of cases and decided upon disciplinary sanctions following the FIFA Club World Cup Japan 2008.
“Takahiro Futagawa, of Gamba Osaka, following his sending-off in the third place play-off on 21 December 2008 has been suspended for two matches and fined CHF 7,000.
“Nemanja Vidic of Manchester United, following his sending-off during the final of the 2008 FIFA Club World Cup on 21 December 2008 has been suspended for one match and fined CHF 5,000.
“The suspensions will be carried over to the next club competition match(es) at confederation level, as stated in Article 38, par. 2 d) of the FIFA Disciplinary Code. Both decisions are not subject to appeal.”
The Serbian will be a great miss considering Inter late domestic forms, but at least SAF & the coaching team have enough time to prepare on defending strategy. If we survived without conceeding, we have a great chance to get to the last 8 of Champions League.

We beat 10 man West Brom 5-0 at their home to stay on top of the table. Goals came from Berbatov, Tevez, Vidic and Ronaldo (2). It was fantastic team performance as Tony Mowbray described as ‘in the that mood of passing and moving the ball around’.
I would also like to congratulate Edwin Van Der Sar and the devensive team for breaking Petr Cech record by stay unbeaten for 1.025 minutes, which also set new Premiership record for 11 clean sheets in a row.
However, all records are made to be broken. I hope the team don’t lose their concentration if they conceeded for the first time in any other day. Although it’s a fantastic achievement, knowing that the lads achieve that with different kind of devensive appearance (except Van Der Sar and Vidic whom appear in all 11 matches), in the end, trophies that count.
We’re still in the middle of the season and no trophies won in January. So let’s win more games.
As for the next EPL game, we’ll face Everton, whom Wenger expect to be title contender at Old Trafford. We were held 1-1 at Goodison Park in the first meeting, so perhaps Wenger is right. But, bring ‘em on!

Following the money would have led us to an Arab sheikh. Or a man in a suit controlling sport from his seat behind a desk. But this has not been a rich list. It is The Times Power 100 and, among our criteria, we have measured the power to put bums on seats, to stir our emotions, to shape events.
The Times also mention how Benitez failed will always find it hard to deal with the most powerful people on British sport (ummm… well it’s too obvious) and also how Sir Alex opposes the of 39th game, which was built because of the popularity of his club in other part of the world, that ended killing the proposal. Oh, he also top Manchester City’s Arab owner. Well, it’s not news anyway.
More on Times Power Power 100 here, I gotta go watch the FA cup game…

Sir Alex Ferguson was done with Friday’s press conference when Rafael Benitez launched his verbal attack. So he keep quiet until today’s win against Chelsea. His responds to Benitez fucks (he said fucks instead of facts i reckon… check out at 0:18 if you don’t believe me) was simply brilliant. A big win against ‘a bigger rival’ than Liverpool and:
“My only response is that once you cut through the venom, because there was a lot of venom in what he said and I don’t understand where it’s come from, he (Benitez) was obviously disturbed about something.
“I think when he reflects, he must surely realise what a ridiculous thing he was saying. But I’m not getting into that. I think that’s enough.
“All I want to do is keep the focus on my team. If I can do that and we can play with that excitement of today, then we have a big chance.”
Master Alex Ferguson, your kungfu is very good!

We’ll face the first of so-called Big 4 at Old Trafford today. Seeing team selection in our last defeat in Carling Cup, i reckon that Sir Alex has put the big guns on a good rest ahead of this game. Chelsea away performance was their key to this season’s EPL campaign, but we have a good home record as well by only dropping 2 points by far (mean the rest was all wins).
Although a draw would be a good result considering Liverpool’s inability to beat Stoke City yesterday, i would rather to see we take it for granted and secure all 3 points. As many teams are playing ‘negative football’ (except Derby) against us this season, dropping further points would be inevitable.
We need the win and i believe we can win.
Bring it on Chelsea!

Finally both parties has reach the agreement. It doesn’t take too long after the January transfer window open, although negotiations have been long been held prior to Tosic’s pay demands didn’t meet our club’s initial expectations.
From the Official Site:
United is pleased to announce it has reached an agreement with Partizan Belgrade and the players for Zoran Tosic and Adem Ljajic to join the club.
Tosic, 21, will sign with immediate effect and wear the no.14 shirt, while an agreement is in place for 17-year-old striker Ljajic to remain with Partizan for the rest of 2009.
Earlier today, Republic of Mancunia also reported that Nemanja Vidic did his bit to help the deal go through, giving his compatriots a positive report of life at Old Trafford.
“Vidic told me that all players are great guys, acting together and that I would find no trouble settling in,” said Tosic

I’m laughing out loud on Sir Alex response at the latest rumor linking Ronaldo with Real Madrid. These words in particular:
“Do you think I would get into a contract with that mob? No chance. I wouldn’t sell them a virus. There’s absolutely no agreement at all between the clubs.”
Sir Alex must really know what he’s talking about if not then this could be embarrassing when at the end Ronaldo go to Madrid.
But still funny though.

Surprised. Rio, Ronaldo, Carrick and Berbatov were all featured. It was a game that should have been won, if ever Ronaldo’s clear goal was allowed. The result was, again we fail to take a precious 3 points when our enemies were drawn by their weaker opponents.
However, i enjoy watching the game as we still pose good entertaining football. And my best moment was, when Sir Alex tried to catch the ball near him to put it back on the game (but he failed :D). After all this years, he still has that passion. A true legend.
All in all, I believe there are more to come from the lads as the season progress. At least we’ve passed all hard away games and still manage to be in one piece (it’s harder to win games these days :D).

If this SkySports report is to be believed, then Anderson risks wrath from the fans.
Questions in my mind:
Whom does he wants to play: Jose Mourinho or Inter Milan (does Mourinho will still at Inter Milan in years to come?).
Who is his father figure; Portuguese’s Ronaldo or the Fat Ronaldo?
I know media loves to f**k things up, not only to United’s players but also to any other big clubs. But sometimes there are truth behind that, even a slim truth.
So either this is a truth, a lie, a rumor or a gossip; I think somebody out there owe us explanation. Don’t you think?

Our £90 million strikers need center back Nemanja Vidic to score injury time goal at Old Trafford to seal the 1-0 win against struggling managerless Sunderland.
Whatever, a win is a win.

At the first 2 years he spent at Old Trafford, we’ve won 2 Premier League titles and a Champions League. He might not been as vocal and have all leadership quality Keano has (who has that other than Roy anyway), but the lad really can pass the ball and his contribution to the team is priceless.
Only few of us recognize that he’s a legend in his own term already. He probably will never be a Paul Scholes or a Michael Ballack (when he still play in German), but whenever he’s at top of his game, you can never never write off his team quality.
Carrick’s post Manchester derby video interview here. Nothing special in the interview really, but if you saw the game, then you must agree that he deserve a Man of The Match.
I believe we can expect more from him in the coming years at the Red Devils.

We pass through the last 16 Champions League with the cost of boring 0-0 game against Villareal, another 90 minutes without a single goal, and Ronaldo bruises.

The Carling Cup Quarter Final draw result is out and we will face Incey boys at Old Trafford at the beginning of December. I bet it will be another tough game but I think we have a good chance to reach the last 4.
Complete draw results:
Stoke City v Derby County
United v Blackburn Rovers
Burnley v Arsenal
Watford v Tottenham Hotspur
So we still are a contention in 5 competitions to go (we’ve lost UEFA Super Cup to Zenith and won the Charity Shield beating Pompey) and will be important for Sir Alex to continue giving youngsters more football.
In enemy news, Liverpool and Chelsea can focus their effort to ‘more important tournaments’ like the FA Cup, Premier League and Champions League as they were both out last week from the cup. But still, no ‘quadruple’ ambition for them this year (like always… hahah).
Anyway, in the next few hours, we will face Stoke City. Prepare for their bombing throw ins, and any other secret weapons. But I think we have a good chance to win. My prediction is 3-1 to United.
Come on you Reds!

This post has been in my draft for several weeks, and I decide to post it today. It’s a simple tip for you to make the most of ManUtd.com new added feature, which is a simple yet useful technology in modern web world. Named RSS or Really Simply Syndication.
New Feature
Didn’t realize until today (sometime several weeks ago - Red) I browse around ManUtd.com that the Official Site have an RSS feed attached to its content. For those of you who aren’t familiar with RSS feed, it’s a technology that can keep you updated everytime your favorite site updating its content. In this case, you can find the latest news from the official site through 2 ways, which is subscribe to the updates via RSS Reader and via email.
RSS Reader
There are tons of free RSS reader service all around the web. The most used services are Google Reader, Bloglines and MyYahoo! So how would i subscribe then? It’s simple. First thing to do is to have an account at above services then add the RSS/feed URL to you subscription list. I will give you the example using my favorite, Google Reader.
First, login or create account in Google Reader (if you already using Gmail, then you are ready to go) login to your Google account.
At the left you’ll see a link ADD SUBSCRIPTION, copy this link and add to it.
Done. You’re now subscribed to ManUtd.com News. Anytime the site updated its news, your Feed Reader will be updated as well.

It’s not really a match report because I think most of you has watched the game and know that we lost the game to Arsenal 1-2.
Arguably, the games against the other ‘big four’ was our key to Premier League trophy. Last season, we beat Liverpool, drawn to Chelsea and Arsenal away. Then beat them all at home. Now look at us this year. We lost at Anfield and Emirates, and drawn at Stamford Bridge. I mean, we could slip at away games to any team in the Premier League right? So I don’t think we can afford to lose these games.
Of course it’s not the end of the world and there’s always down time in a long season. But I think Rio should be our captain, the club could fasten Gary Neville’s retirement and send him to coaching school. We’ve conceded 6 goals already this week, I’m pessimist things could get any better if Gary is at our right back. Although I see a new hope in Rafael Da Silva, I think we missed Wes Brown contribution and Carlos Tevez at front greatly this season.
I’ll bet our performance by far won’t brings us any silverware this season. I hope I’m wrong.

The Independent reported that Manchester United Football Club has just signed a new multi million pound sponsorship deal (numbers were disclosed) with Swiss watch Hublot (mind you, the site is full of flash, there’s no way you can skip the long loading flash intro!!).
Chief Executive David Gill:
"We are delighted to welcome such a prestigious partner as Hublot to the Manchester United family,".
Moreover:
"Sir Alex (Ferguson) is known as a stickler for timekeeping, both on and off the pitch, now we have a partner that shares his passion."
Now, who says the world is at crisis?

Found this article this morning but then stuck on my job and never had the chance to post it here until now. It’s a very cool interview with Sir Alex Ferguson. As always; honest, outspoken and intelligence.
Sir Alex is one, if not the greatest, football manager ever live in this planet. I’m amazed with how people haters can’t appreciate his great work for the last 3 decades. But even with his caliber, he can’t pleased everyone.
The greatest lost of Manchester United Football club is when the time he retires. Hope i could be nearer than the internet when Manchester United pays a tribute to him one day. The man who will always remembered for his greatness.

I won’t lie to myself and I admit I have problem with Cristiano Ronaldo. I don’t praise him as much last season. It’s been 2 months since the new season start and whenever he score or just play good, I don’t really care. It’s like, well he scores, he got paid to do it. It’s ‘his job’. And it’s ‘my job’ to support our players.
I still unsure if Ronaldo plan to ’stay ‘longer’ at United and current Ramon Calderon The Liar statement that he’s not their target anymore is even a good news.
I’m not sure what’s wrong with me. If I become another pathetic United fan, I’m sorry. But I just don’t feel about Ronaldo anymore.
But time will tell. Hope all become well.

So the winning streak in all competition has to stop to 7 as we draw 1-1 against Everton today.
It’s always hard if every team you play want to win against you and that’s what we face today at the Goodison Park. But there are no excuse because we deserve tough matches throughout the season on every occasion, because remember we’re the f**king English and European Champions.
After so many noises ahead of the game we could only draw 1-1 against the team that very recently could only play good at first halfs. But they surely super motivated and very much improved at the second half, including Tim Howard, Phil Neville and ex reds injury prone Louis Saha. We’ve been poor and waste so many opportunities and they’ve been good enough to upset our rythm.
Of course it’s a long way to go but we already lost 5 points on our visit to Merseyside team after losing against the kop in September and draw against Everton (I wonder if those points could cost us our aim to get the English Premiere League hattrick). But I guess it’s at least harder to march through the first half of season since other top four, according Hull doesn’t seem to slowing down. But who knows anyway.
Special message to Rooney: Calm down Rooney, you’re the best among Red fans! Next game will be much better. We could win another 7 (hope to win more) start from the next game against West Ham in Old Trafford!
Come on you Reds!

Rio Ferdinand is supposed to be England Captain. But since Senor Capello has pick the slippy Chelsea captain to lead the Three Lions (who was too sick to play for England and play full 90 minutes in The River Side last weekend), that general sentiment is left only for United fans. But Rio got on with it and continue his giving his best service for his country. That shown his leadership ability. In my heart, Rio is the captain.
However, after again snubbed, this time in the Ballon d’Or nominations, Rio Ferdinand is nominated as Sports Leader of the Year by Square Miles Sport Awards.
The club also up in The Sports Team of The Year and Sporting Moment of The Year. In the last category, it was Chelsea’s slippy captain slippery slipped in front of Van Der Sar’s goals which many believe costs his team the Champions League.
Although Manchester United only included in 3 categories, you’ll be prompt to vote on all six category. In total you’ll be spent like 5 minutes or so to vote for our club. It won’t hurt you.
To vote, you can go here directly and cast your vote.

I thought I posted this already. Heck. So you probably know already that Berbatov scored 2 and Wayne Rooney scored 1 right?
Ok. I must admit. I didn’t watch the match. I was in a transition of changing cable TV provider. So i have to watch the game through local free TV which is SUCK!
Yes it sucks because of the following reasons:
They didn’t broadcast our Champions League game against Celtic last night. Instead, they play Juventus vs Real Madrid game. Call me bias, but how could they pick to broadcast a game which anticipated by (maybe, the stadium was so dark from my TV) only third half full home crowd. They picked that instead of full pack Old Trafford. How moronic is that. Well they must have reasons anyway. Probably stupid reasons. But I don’t know.
They dubbed the commentary with local language. Ahh… you just don’t want to know how awful they sounds. They try hard remembering player names… I mean, it’s a national TV. The biggest.
Anyway. It’s nice to see (yes i saw the goals through internet) Wayne Rooney’s goals keep rolling and new boy Berbatov also keep him in the score sheet. The nicest thing, despite rumors that he’s unhappy, was Carlos Tevez provide a pass to Rooney for our third goal. Tevez is God from Argentina.
So, we continue our unbeaten run in the Champions League to 16 games. However, like Sir Alex said, records are made to be broken. I just hope that when it comes the time, the timing is not that bad. In the meantime, of course we have a great chance to retain our European crown.
Come on you Reds.

It was a stunning performance by the Champions but the goals were all came in the second half. Wayne Rooooooney keep his goal scoring flow, and his super low shot crashes the stubborn Baggies at the 56th minute. Ronaldo also register himself at the score line, then followed by new boy Berbatov. Nani closed the stunning score line with his injury time goal.
At the first half, I admit I was so nervous because even if the stats shown that we control most of the possession, seems like we just can’t find the way to the net. But before my thoughts brought to the ‘is this not our day s**t’, the lads shown their determination to keep on winning. Then soon after Wayne Rooney opened the score, we looked stronger and stronger.
The down side was, seems like we add another player to the injury list ahead of Champions League fixture against Celtic. Evra was substituted in the first half by O’Shea and seems like he wasn’t fine. I just hope all is well, because we need his energy and determination to help the team continue the winning run in all front.
All in all, this reds is loving his life this weekend. Now he needs some sleep, it’s 3 AM already here in Bali.
Thank you Manchester United!
