He is most recognized as an icon of the silent film era. Charles Spencer Chaplin was born in Walworth, London, England on April 26th, 1889. Charlie appeared in and directed 35 films.
Tom Mix joined the army as a young man. He was an artillery sergeant during the Philippine campaign from 1898 to 1901. In 1903 he was drum major with the Oklahoma Cavalry Band.
They were the first two people to imprint their hand/foot prints. They where two of the biggest silent movie stars of the era.

Gloria Swanson was born Gloria May Josephine Svensson in Chicago, Illinois, on March 27, 1897. She was destined to be one of the biggest stars of the silent movie era. After her formal education in the Chicago school system and elsewhere, she began work in a department store as a salesclerk.
