• Robespierre's Reign of Terror
  Sep 4, 1792

  A 15 monh period after the French Revolution where stuggles between rival factions led to mutual radicalization.

• French declares War
  Dec 31, 1791

  On April 20, 1792, the Legislative Assembly wanted war with Austria. The French fought bad at first, then the armies became more powerful as the war progressed.

• The Bread March on Versailles
  Oct 4, 1789

  October 5 when groups of women had gotten together and made a big crowd in the central marketplace of Paris The march to Versailles

• The Great Fear in the countryside
  Jul 31, 1789

  there were riots in the countryside. Peasants burned their nobles' chateaux, monasteries and buildings which housed public records. They particularly targeted documents which contained records of their feudal obligations. It was called "The Great Fear" and spread quickly throughout France.

• Poor Harvests/ Excesive Spending lead to Trouble in France

  People were spending money they didn't have. The crops also weren't growing.

• Storming of the Bastille
  Dec 31, 1788

  The Storming of the Bastille in Paris took place on the14th of July 1789. While the medieval fortress known as the Bastille had only seven prisoners, its fall destruction of the French Revolution and it became greatly remembered by the French Republic. It also became a holiday on July 4th called Bastille Day.

• King Louis XVI calls the Estates General
  Dec 31, 1787

  The Estates General was set up in such a way that each Estate got the same number of members. It was the first time the Estates General was called since 1614.
