A much loved 4th grade teacher returns for a visit.
The musicians are grads of the NC School of the Arts and here teaching there this week.

Our 3rd grade students enjoyed hearing about the U.S. Presidents today from Dr. Parton, retired Wake Forest history professor. He shared history with "math" in a fun way.
With thumb and forefinger taped, can you write your name, cut a circle, use a fork, or blow up a balloon? Students in Mrs. Howell's 1st grade experienced the opposable thumb & learned about opossums with NC Wildlife.
Today after school, a really big crane lifted what looks like the heating/ac on top of the new building. Wow!
Some of the students in Mrs. Teague's 2nd grade class chose to make masks in the K-2 curriculum room.
RHES Bulldog goes to the NC outer banks for Thanksgiving. She had a great time!

The big day has arrived - our students are ready, they've researched Orville and Wilbur Wright, from Ohio to North Carolina - they've written a script, posted their work on the wiki, and practiced their skit. "12 seconds that changed the world"
Ms. McLelland's class learns about bears from the NC Wildlife Resources.
Ms. K Parker's class & Ms. Verner's class enjoyed learning about Buds, Bark, & Berries today.

Our 1st assembly in the gym today was the PTA fundraiser. Remember that students do not go door to door to sell.
These types of trees attract the beautiful songbirds, like the finches, Carolina Chickadee, wren, tufted titmouse, nuthatch, & sparrows.

Celebrating Earth Day at Rural Hall School began with the school News Team and continued with several "Earth Learning Stations" in the courtyard. Classes shared the exhibits and student docents. Check out the pics on the School Album link on the webpage. Also look for vidcasts of students sharing their Earth Day pledges and some staff sharing their pledges.
We enjoyed a spring treat of ice cream, brownies, cookies, & yummy toppings to celebrate spring.
